I honestly believe it's because there are better alternatives to .NET now. Ones that make sense and look nicer. imho

Yes I like .net, here's proof 75percentsurf.net just registered it months ago, just remembered that we have a thread like this. i purchased the whole website which is a manual traffic exchange, it because of it's membership 3k members, domain age and it's seo listing. But I re listing it again since I re-launched it after purchase.
