Just won the domain name Fosi. com at NameJet auction with 297 bidders.

Auction just ended now - Saturday.

Lucky for me there was no real back and forth bidding war since people probably busy with long thanksgiving holiday weekend.

I guess let it collect dust until it turns to Gold.

What exactly would u do with it?

Congrats on the acquisition!

Have you considered listing it on a brandable marketplace like Alter? The name will be in good company. :)

Great Acquisition, congrats and best wishes to you.
quick question: When looking to buy domains, do you go with an idea of what you need in mind? Or do you just search through auction and buy when you see something good? Whats your buying strategy?
Hope my questions are not too difficult:happy:

i really have no idea what i am going to buy until i see it.

i just look thru expireddomains with $5000 minimum valuation...that usually brings the list down to less than 100 domains to sort thru which takes less than 10 minutes.

then i see if something catches my eye.

if i like something, i start doing research on the domain by looking at wayback machine to see how the domain was being used and how long the last owner owned it to see how long this domain has been off the market.

i like buying domains that have never been for sale on the market.

once i know i want this domain, i check namebio to see what price range these similar domains sell for so i have an idea what to pay

i also check to see when the auction is ending...
i like auctions ending on Saturday or holidays where there are less bidders...less people watching

then i set my alarm to 10 minutes before auction closes to make sure i don’t miss out

then i over pay to win the auction...
these days you have to over pay if u really like a domain name

it might seem like you’re over paying today but within couple years, it will feel like a bargain

and that’s my buying strategy and i’m sticking to it

Some old pirates might remember this name.
FOSI was a legendary site back in the day.
PROGRAMZ (ural.net)
A totally mirrored site.
Retired now but there were some great proggys, no crack, working serial, and clean (no nastys), ready to go.
And the guy had a great sense of humor.

Congrats on a great score, anunt.

Peace,
Kenny

I was wondering if anyone was going to mention that
It really shows our age doesn't it? :)

Fosi.com - Sold

Need money for another project

or i would have never sold for $6k

it’s a liquid 4L premium domain cvcv
Still had trouble finding a buyer above $6k
Had to sell to my regular buyer
Most people here on namepros were offering under $5k.

I think it’s easily worth $10k+
But people don’t want to take this small risk for huge reward.

just need to be patient.

Congratulations for sell and best wishes for your new project for which you are raising fund.

IMhO, I feel this impulsive buying & than selling for another tempting domain is a biggest enemy of domainers in the path of prosperity. The more transaction for small profits only means we are working for marketplaces & Escrow companies & when you quantify your time & energy during the buying & selling process actually domainers are loosing money and only other commossion agents are making money in the process.

A serious domain investor should take long term prospects before buying anything or wait for perfect domain instead of involve in such flipping activities. Anyway, this domain was worth much more than the $5K for the person who can wait atleast 3-6 years. I wish that you should stick to atleast 3-5 years with your new investment or till you find end user and achieve your financial goals.

Happy & Prosperous New Year to all!

Hello anunt,

Congratulations on the sale.
I also hope your new venture turns out to be all you expect.
FOSI is a great name, however I think there might be a little stigma related to it's prior association, and the profit you made on the quick flip hopefully will serve you well in the new project.

Since you sold it to your regular buyer, perhaps there were no middlemen to cut into your profit.

Good Luck.

Peace,
Kenny
