Over the last 90 days I've bought over a thousand nTLD's for a dollar each. While I've spent over a thousand dollars for .realty and .online domains, their exact .com equivalents are valued at over a million dollars. In most cases the .com equivalent is already in use meaning they lead to a website that anyone can access online. Essentially this would be like buying ten rental properties valued at 100K each and only having to put down $100 for each property....what a deal:xf.grin:

Owners of these nTLD's like Donuts, Radix, XYZ and others are using this business model to flood the market with their extensions. And while I don't know for sure, many of them are registering names themselves in order to create scarcity or at least give the appearance of scarcity.

btw, none of this is illegal or even close to it. I've bought a thousand of these names for just a dollar down because I know their .com equivalent is gone, or if it's registered the owner of the domain is asking so much for it, few "end users" can afford it.

I see myself as a middleman between the nTLD owner and the "end user", and I love my role:xf.love:. As a business guy I'm working on a "Dollar Down" model to sell .com equivalent domains. You might say the domains/brands I'm selling are generic in nature similar to the millions of generic brands sold all over the world.

At least for me "Dollar Down Domains" are the future.....even the name is pretty catchy if you're into that sort of thing:xf.wink: Let me know what you think....can you spare a dollar.

Yeah but do you have to pay full price renewals for them next year?

No, but i don't have to pay a dime or even a dollar if i don't renew them. btw, my business model for "Dollar Down Domains" is even for .coms. Lets say for example you wanted to buy MadAboutDomains.com that's valued at GD for $1,043, I'll gladly sell it to you for a "Dollar Down" if you pay me in advance for a life time registration of the domain. Note that Epik sells a "Forever Registration" for $420....i can't share anymore information with you here but "Dollar Down Domains" is for real, and has the potential to revolutionize the aftermarket domain industry.

So, say like you paid $1 for a domain. Are you thinking them of renting them to end users for say $50 per year of so ?

If end users don't buy or rent them in first year, will you renew them with high renewal fees for next year ?
Sorry, but did not understand the concept correctly.

I'm still working on some of the details, but see my response to MadAboutDomains. btw, i just a few minutes ago bought DollarDownDomains.online for just a dollar down, but if i want to keep it i need to pay a registration fee of 49.99 a year from now:xf.wink: I'm surprised no one in this industry has done this, but very little surprises me anymore especially since I learned the reason why you and I exist.

That exactly is my concern!
You have to search and get those end users in the first year itself..

Maybe not...what if i were to tell you that "if" i were actively trying to sell them I could renew them at the end of a year for just a dollar? Remember Steven, I'm a reseller just like you, and I don't want anyone accusing me of "hoarding" domains.

Thanks for the reply!

But, I really don't understand the concept that well.
Good for you!

Yeah I have no clue what you're proposing. Your posts always sound almost cryptic to me. Why not just say in simple terms what you mean?

By "cryptic", do you mean like in code? Have you ever bought or financed a car or a home? Where I live in America, in order to drive an automobile it has to be registered and it has to be insured regardless of whether the vehicle is paid for or not. With regards to a domain, it has to be registered in order to drive it on the internet highway. and I can't be any less cryptic than that. If you can't afford the registration fee or the principal and interest (i charge), then you can't afford the domain. Sorry if that doesn't make sense to you, but it makes perfect sense to me.

Great idea!

Hate the renewal costs...so be be be careful!

Taste the traffic and whittle them down.

Get your contracts in order for the buyers, make sure lawyer(s) review contracts.

Tell us one year from now what happened.

Thanks GL....as they say Rome wasn't built in a day, but with a little help from some friends, "Dollar Down Domains" will become a reality in less than a year.

Hey Handsome....what's with "If you walk with the cripples you start to limp"? That sounds a little Trumpesk to me. Not that you don't have the right to say it, but I don't get it. btw, i don't expect you to respond to this. I voted for Trump having voted for Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Not everything we do makes sense, but the right to free speech and the right to change your mind is something i believe in from the bottom of my heart.

Back on topic, renewals/registrations can be seen as a way of financing/renting/leasing domains similar to the way PITI (Principal, Interest, Taxes, Insurance) is wrapped into a mortgage payment.

Thanks again(y)

So "Dollar down domain" means you buy it on a payment plan?

I just want to also say that I don't have the foggiest how you got from his post to talking about "cripples". Rambling, meaningless drivel IMHO

Ha ha.. The phase I used for almost 35 years of my life, one of my favorites!!

"When you walk with the cripples, you start to limp". It has more than physical implications. Mostly mental.

My house was probably called "That Biden house" due to my 3-4 flags for Biden and 3 USA flags. Someone wants to question my American choice, well I welcome confrontation. Lets do it!

Taste the traffic and delete before registration time!

I wouldn't have a Biden or a Trump flag in my yard, but I proudly fly an American Flag. One of my good friends owns US Flag and Signal. Trust me that I wouldn't confront you politically after you said, "Great Idea!" about "Dollar Down Domains"

To show you a little more where I'm coming from, I own the domain DefundMyAss.com and am about to register CancelMyAss.com. They're meant to lighten up the narrative and rhetoric that only a JackAss:xf.grin: can do on the back of a tee shirt.

Here is fun story...then I am done writing.

When I was growing up in small coal town, in the 60s and early 70s, no person from our town ever really got arrested. Sure, you kill someone or shoot someone, you get locked up. But, if the cops caught you stealing from one of your neighbors, he would crack you with his billy club/baton....maybe break an arm, whatever. You were injured.

The cops meted out justice...you were not arrested. You did not have a record to destroy your life. We only had 2 cell prison anyway in small town.

Now, we never used guns but always our fists to settle problems. There were no real shootings or killings, and things were settled naturally.

I look back now and think that was pretty smart.

Remember, post in one year and tell us about your experiment.
