and when they were asked to leave ... they should have left .... they never should have crossed the concrete barriers to begin with ... you will get no argument out of me concerning the actions that took place at the Capitol ... it was wrong and never should have happened ..

Agreed. Let's leave it at that and not derail things too much beside this whole election mess :).

Parler was also just put on notice by Apple and Google. Moderate your shit, or be de-platformed.

Free speech is one thing. Incitement of violence is not free speech.

I posted in the other thread they won't last a year and they won't. It's a straight cesspool, you can't put the cork back on with what's happening over there. Literally things like kidnapping and murder. They have a place all to their own basically and this is how it goes.

In retrospect, that is quite the understatement.

GOP pollster and strategist Frank Luntz believes that Democrats hold the upper hand in Tuesday's Georgia Senate runoff elections, warning of disappointment for Republicans in those pivotal races and in Wednesday's upcoming Electoral College presidential confirmation vote on Capitol Hill.

"There is a greater divide in the Republican Party than there is in the Democratic Party," Luntz said in an interview on CNBC's "Squawk Box" on Tuesday from Georgia. "The party is in the process of tearing itself apart and you don't do that now, when you're this close to the most important Senate election, literally, in a lifetime. Democrats are unified, Republicans are not and that's what gives them the advantage."

"I think the next 48 hours are going to be among the worst for the GOP,"
he added.

Imagine if trump would try to run for the 2024 election... as an independent. He's got the followers to do so I would think but it would tear the republican party apart and decimate their power and influence. Interesting but troubling times for both sides, if you're sane.

I would love to see it happen, but Trump is done after this.

Any reasonable person is horrified by his behavior since election day culminating on January 6th.

He left leading a disgraceful insurrection against America. He is not only the worst president, he will be remembered as a pariah in history. A traitor to the country. Benedict Donald.

That's not going to happen.

He could be impeached again. Impeached twice, you can't run again from what I've read. Have to recheck that.

He'll be 4 years older. Could be in prison. If not in prison, lots of lawsuits, more dirt coming out. Rape, tax, fraud, defamation, emoluments etc.

He just lost to Biden in a landslide victory. He can't take losing twice.

With what happened recently, pretty much put the lid on that happening.

It's all downhill from here on out for Trump and MAGA.

This will be the worst year of Trump's life. It all is going to catch up with him.

If you are impeached and removed, there is paperwork that disqualifies you from ever holding public office.

It the House sends the impeachment paperwork to the Senate, and the GOP doesn't vote to convict their party will never recover.

A statement has to be made that this behavior is not acceptable. If they are not willing to make it, they will own it, as well as any other crazy actions over the next 12 days.

If he is removed he would also lose things provided by The Former Presidents Act....pension, health insurance, office space and staff, and secret service protection.

He should just do the remainder of his corrupt pardons and resign. His self-pardon will never hold up in a court. He is exposed criminally both federally and in several states.

Dominos are falling:

Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, SnapChat, & Shopify have all banned Trump. Apple has given Parlor 24 hours to develop a moderation policy or they’ll ban Parlor too.

And don't forget the Law, that should prosecute him for inciting an insurrection and sedition that ended with 5 deaths and an invasion of the US Capitol while lawyers were counting electoral college votes.
Not to mention about his attempt to manipulate a State election results by coercing and threatening a State official to subvert the will of the people and destroy the US Democracy.

18 U.S. Code § 2383 - Rebellion or insurrection

https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/2383

Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

America doesn't negotiate with terrorists...

@BeschlossDC

Please pay attention to this statement, everyone — just issued by Twitter executives: “Plans for future armed protests have already begun proliferating on and off-Twitter, including a proposed secondary attack on the US Capitol and state capitol buildings on January 17, 2021.”

Totally agree. You cannot commit a crime like inciting violent sedition or insurrection ending in 5 deaths, and then self-pardon. As you say it will never hold up in a court.
Anyway the Congress has to do its duty, and that's impeach the inciter of the Capitol insurrection as soon as possible.

Oh,
@realDonaldTrump
Account suspended
Twitter suspends accounts which violate the Twitter Rules

Good to see Twitter finally shutting the mouth of that total thread to the US democracy.
They took too long, specially the last two months with daily tweets of lies and conspiracies. The election loser has been brainwashing his supporters on a daily base, making them finally to believe that somebody had stolen the election.
And that was a quite dangerous brainwashing, because when you make people believe that somebody has stolen the elections, some people are capable of doing something as crazy as the insurrection we saw on Jan 6th. Insurrection totally incited by a crazy loser incapable to process a defeat.

Good to see Twitter finally shutting the mouth of that total thread to the US democracy and national safety.
They took too long, specially the last two months with daily tweets representing each and every one a total incitement to violence and insurrection. The election loser has been constantly brainwashing his supporters on a daily base, making them finally to believe that somebody had stolen the election.

They used circular logic that can fool people that lack critical thinking skills.

1.) They made up bullshit voter fraud claims.
2.) They keep repeating the claims over and over, like Joseph Goebbels.
3.) This nonsense was rejected in every court.
4.) They site that whatever % of people believe in the claims as evidence of fraud.
5.) Then they say because the people believe the lies and misinformation that they have been repeating, it needs to be investigated.

It already has and thoroughly debunked. Repeating lies does not make them true.

The GOP does not gives a rats ass about voter fraud. You can see in the Georgia phonecall Trump just wanted to win via any means necessary.

I didn't see the GOP challenging states like NC, that expanded mail in voting like Pennsylvania did. What is the difference between the two?

Donald Trump, Sidney Powell, Rudy Giuliani and others are about to feel the weight of the legal system crash down on them. They are going to face massive civil lawsuits as well as sanctions for their actions in perpetrating this voter fraud myth, as well as abuse of the court systems.

All the conspiracy nonsense, all the election fraud lies, all, has started on the mind of the election sore loser.
Trump, from the very first minute that he saw he was losing the vote count, he started tweeting there was a fraud.
In fact always he lost something in his life, he said it was by fraud, so it was quite obvious what he was going to say here too with election results if he was defeated by the will of the majority.

I really don't know how that situation should have to be managed, but a good start would have been if eveybody on the two parties including republicans would have placed first common sense and the country interest before their personal interests, by telling Trump to shut up with his dangerous conspiracies and assume the election result.
Not having stopped the conspiracy and totally unfounded delirium of the loser in chief during the last two months has been too dangerous for the US, as we have seen with Jan 6th insurrection at the US Capitol.

Agree with the both of you. But the people that knowingly and willingly voted for him and supported him aren't going anywhere.

The underlying issues remain. Let's hope common sense will persevere and as much as I don't think Biden is the best of alternatives,I hope he will succeed in making democracy great again and unite the country. In my opinion the USA is standing at a crossroad and it could go both ways.
