Hi everyone,

Today I’m very excited to share the acquisitions of some ultra premium .CO domains which took me several months of negotiation and finally ended up with buying the following domains:

Business.CO – This domain was once sold for $80,000 in 2011 and there was a lot of buzz around it. One of the best keywords to own. As per DotDB, this keyword ranks at #47 from the most registered number of extension counts.

News.CO – I believe this is another fantastic domain which was once sold for $50,000 back in 2011. and great to own in .CO extension. As per DotDB, this keyword ranks at #32 from the most registered number of extension counts. By the way, I’ve this .CO the best in terms of number of extension counts.

Finance.CO – After Business.CO and News.CO, this is my 3rd best .CO domain under my portfolio as well as from this list. This domain was previously sold for $45,000.

Below are the rest of the .CO domains I acquired and I don’t really feel the need to write commentary along with each domain. Although I don’t need to share for the above 3 domains as well but I’m just thrilled to share my excitement

MEN.CO

SKI.CO

GIN.CO

Internet.CO

Hosting.CO

Fish.CO

Commodity.CO

Auctions.CO

Whiskey.CO

Automotive.CO

Vodka.CO

Brandy.CO

Tequila.CO

Holland.CO

Merchant.CO

According to NameBio.com, all the above domains were sold in the year 2011 except Merchant.CO and the total sales amount was almost $400,000. Fast forward to 2020, I can tell you one thing that I paid little less than Business.CO (which sold for $80,000 in 2011) for ALL the above domains I’ve recently acquired. And that too in 2020 when the .CO market is booming.

ALL of the above domains except Fish.CO and Merchant.CO were acquired privately and were transferred to my account first before I made the payment.

On the other hand, I added a handful of 3L .CO domains which I believe do always good if bought at the right price and combination.

ACR.CO
AFA.CO
AXC.CO
CTT.CO
EIH.CO
FDL.CO
FLD.CO
HDB.CO
HHW.CO
HSR.CO
HTB.CO
JCJ.CO
JVR.CO
KBP.CO
KDK.CO
KGC.CO
KKE.CO
KMW.CO
LFT.CO
LHE.CO
LHL.CO
LOE.CO
LUB.CO
MFK.CO
MLH.CO
MXS.CO
OLF.CO
PGF.CO
PGI.CO
RXI.CO
SLZ.CO
SYL.CO
TGB.CO
TPD.CO
VFI.CO

Feel free to share your recent .CO acquisitions and/or give feedback on my recent purchases.

Congrats on acquiring domains that were of interest to you. However, what you did is called "price anchoring". You've seen the high prices and now you justify their value based on those prices. There is a reason why all of them sold that particular year. Everyone thought .co was going to be the next big boom. The same happened with almost any decent extension. Check .mobi sales for example. Anyhow, I think .co names still have some good value, especially one-word domains like you have. However, you may be holding your breath for a while to get the prices that you mentioned. I don't see many companies springing to spend $xx,xxx - $xxx, xxx on .co domains. However, is it possible that you'll end up selling one or more of the names for that much? Of course. Either way, I wish you luck and I have no doubt that with good marketing skills you can easily get your money back and then some.

gd buy changed nothing.
co was doing good for longtime... is doing good...and will continue to do good.. it's an amazing seller for domainers.

I am not saying .co was not doing good. Its going well, But not five figs or six figs.
There were a few.co sales in XX,XXX recently. Simply driving prices. Ultimately some of our friends would loose money if they started buying mediocre names for 4 Figs or 5 figs

Thank you William for your feedback and I appreciate that. I actually liked some of your points (y)

Usually I don't buy or sell domains based on the past sales. I even rarely check what are the past sales but I already knew about some of those .CO sales which got a bit of a coverage which is why I checked for all others and mentioned it. My buying process is different than many others.

Just look at some of the reported .CO sales here -
https://www.gritbrokerage.com/notable-sales and https://www.gritbrokerage.com/other-notable-sales and also NameBio.com which will give you an idea of how this extension have been doing since the launch.

I'm very much confident of selling for a lot more than what I paid. I'll be sharing whenever I'll manage to sell any of them in the future.

Not standard but premium. I'm paying under $25 each for both standard and premium renewals but they've some $3 difference only.

Horeca is a general term that is used all around globe , yeh can say start from Netherland/Holland but it's used global

Yeah.. Could be.
Hospitality industry is something I am not aware of at all, and maybe that is why I never came across the term.

Maybe it is like BFSI in Finance...

You learn something new everyday...

How many more TLDs you own?

HoReCa is an acronym for HotelRestaurantCafe, quite general for the entire accommodation/catering business

I think it means
Hotel Recreation Catering
(or
Hotel Researvation & Car (rental))

No worries. As far as there is something to learn/constructive, all is good. I've learnt myself as well.
Thanks!

@AbdulBasit.com

Congrats again!

So looking at these purchases, it looks like .co is your second favorite after .com.
You perhaps like .co more then .org and .net right ?
