Having relatives and friends scattered all over the globe, I am getting an overload of input (some on the record and some off the record).

My intention for this thread is for community members from around the world to post first hand stories and/or links to information sources that, for the most part, should be reliable.

In my community, just outside a major southeastern city, 'assets' have been placed. Only because I have friends in both high and low places have I heard about some of this. At this point it is only some basic medical supplies that should be equally distributed anyway in preparation for a natural emergency (hurricane/wildfire/etc.).

I will start with posting a link to a site with current data that seems to come from an aggregate of sources and hope others will do the same as they come across similar sites/pages.

Because of the 'typhoid Mary' spread-ability of this disease, I feel we may be in for a really large spread globally which will impact the global economy and through extension, retail domain prices.

One thing is for sure...things will get worse before they get better.

145 Costco employees test positive for Covid-19 in Washington state

A Covid-19 outbreak has been confirmed at a Costco store in Washington state.

According to a news release from the Yakima Health District, 145 Costco employees have tested positive for Covid-19. Employees who have tested positive have completed their quarantine or isolation period, the release said.

“As Costco continues its site wide testing, we anticipate the number of cases to continue to go up over the next few days as results are received," Melissa Sixberry, director of Disease Control 3 at Yakima Health, said in the release.

The release said that based on the number of cases and timeline, the evidence shows that the increase in cases "mimics the type of activity that happens after some sort of superspreader event."

Happy New Year 'doc'!

I decided to unblock you for a while to get a chuckle as the new year starts. Please do your best (for those that have not chosen to ignore you yet) to stay on topic of this thread. As a reminder, this is the topic at hand: Covid19-Coronavirus updates and news

Your 'numerical' conspiracy posts belong in your own thread as they are not 'news' or 'updates'. Of course you are welcome to post anything relevant to the pandemic and a supporting link would be the proper way to post it. Videos from lunatic fringers huddled in mommy or daddy's basement do not qualify...please try to use a reasonably reputable news (Fox, CNN, BBC, Reuters) or medical (AMA type) source...such as:

https://www.ama-assn.org/delivering...-novel-coronavirus-resource-center-physicians

Your bold, large colorful print doesn't help your posts either...it does nothing to elevate your position and is indicative of something else altogether (I will skip the analyzation for now).

So, despite our opposing viewpoints on many circumstances surrounding the biggest deal to hit this planet in decades, I hope you and those you love are happy and healthy in 2021.

Let's agree on that.

I assure you I'm not masking myself with egregious statements to cover other things, (nor am I suffocating my face in other masks)

...Though I appreciate your attempt to degrade me that only reaffirms what I know.

May your family avoid GMOs, fast food, toxic substances and self-sabotaging patterns......

May you and your family live from the heart,
May satan's deceptions wash over you and not stick to your souls.

and perhaps all of you will begin to see the truth that the Mainstream Media is in fact:

Theater.

More on that later ;)

A new release of clinical trial results from Pfizer vaccine, from 43,548 participants, as of Dec 31, 2020.
As you can see on the following clinical trial, the mRNA vaccine from Pfizer is highly effective (95%) and the safety is similar to that of other vaccines.

Safety and Efficacy of the BNT162b2 mRNA Covid-19 Vaccine

https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa2034577

Methods

In an ongoing multinational, placebo-controlled, observer-blinded, pivotal efficacy trial, we randomly assigned persons 16 years of age or older in a 1:1 ratio to receive two doses, 21 days apart, of either placebo or the BNT162b2 vaccine candidate (30 μg per dose). BNT162b2 is a lipid nanoparticle–formulated, nucleoside-modified RNA vaccine that encodes a prefusion stabilized, membrane-anchored SARS-CoV-2 full-length spike protein. The primary end points were efficacy of the vaccine against laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 and safety.

Results

A total of 43,548 participants underwent randomization, of whom 43,448 received injections: 21,720 with BNT162b2 and 21,728 with placebo. There were 8 cases of Covid-19 with onset at least 7 days after the second dose among participants assigned to receive BNT162b2 and 162 cases among those assigned to placebo; BNT162b2 was 95% effective in preventing Covid-19 (95% credible interval, 90.3 to 97.6). Similar vaccine efficacy (generally 90 to 100%) was observed across subgroups defined by age, sex, race, ethnicity, baseline body-mass index, and the presence of coexisting conditions. Among 10 cases of severe Covid-19 with onset after the first dose, 9 occurred in placebo recipients and 1 in a BNT162b2 recipient. The safety profile of BNT162b2 was characterized by short-term, mild-to-moderate pain at the injection site, fatigue, and headache. The incidence of serious adverse events was low and was similar in the vaccine and placebo groups.

Conclusions

A two-dose regimen of BNT162b2 conferred 95% protection against Covid-19 in persons 16 years of age or older. Safety over a median of 2 months was similar to that of other viral vaccines. (Funded by BioNTech and Pfizer; ClinicalTrials.gov number, NCT04368728. opens in new tab.)

NIH Researchers Uncover Brain Damage in COVID-19 Patients, Despite No Infection of the Brain

COVID-19-Brain-Damage-1536x1292.jpg

Results from a study of 19 deceased patients suggests brain damage is a byproduct of a patient’s illness.

In an in-depth study of how COVID-19 affects a patient’s brain, National Institutes of Health researchers consistently spotted hallmarks of damage caused by thinning and leaky brain blood vessels in tissue samples from patients who died shortly after contracting the disease. In addition, they saw no signs of SARS-CoV-2 in the tissue samples, suggesting the damage was not caused by a direct viral attack on the brain. The results were published as a correspondence in the New England Journal of Medicine.

“So far, our results suggest that the damage we saw may not have been not caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus directly infecting the brain,” said Dr. Nath. “In the future, we plan to study how COVID-19 harms the brain’s blood vessels and whether that produces some of the short- and long-term symptoms we see in patients.”

https://scitechdaily.com/nih-researchers-uncover-brain-damage-in-covid-19-patients-despite-no-infection-of-the-brain/

Obviously 19 results is a very small number to base any conclusion on, so it will be interesting to see further studies into this.

You sound suspicious of the official narrative.....

This Coca Cola scenario reminds me about the president of Tanzania and what he shared with the world....

Tanzania president questions coronavirus kits after animal test.

President Magufuli says tests were found to be faulty after goat, sheep and pawpaw samples test positive for COVID-19.
https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2020...-questions-coronavirus-kits-after-animal-test

PURE BS. I've been tested 3 times negative for covid and I know how those tests go. It shows positive because it's done in a wrong way. I don't understand Austrian, but here's a video debunking it:
- the guy tries to do the same as that politician & get's positive covid for cola, but because he did it wrong way. Then skip to ~4:13, where the test is done in a right way and it's negative. Corona beer also tested negative for corona test lol.

You do realize the inventor of the test said specifically never to use it for infectious disease diagnosis?

December was the deadliest, most infectious month since the start of the pandemic

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-new...most-infectious-month-start-pandemic-n1252645

"The U.S. also surpassed 20 million cases amid the emergence of a new virus variant and a slower than expected vaccine rollout.

The United States closed out 2020 with the deadliest and most infectious month since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, while surpassing 20 million confirmed Covid-19 cases.

More than 77,000 people lost their lives in December to Covid-19, while 6.4 million contracted the virus amid the emergence of a new virus variant and delayed efforts to vaccinate people. The second-deadliest month was April 2020, with more than 58,000 deaths."

Looking into the post covid-19 future:

Heading Off the Next Pandemic
https://www.thedailybeast.com/heading-off-the-next-pandemic?ref=home
Totally agree with the article. Although before being too much worried by what may come in future, I have to say that with the current technology advances in science and vaccines, with the new mRNA technology, it would be possible to make a high targeted and working vaccine in a record time, against new virus that may come. But totally agree that "as long as humans encroach on nature, pandemics are inevitable":

https://www.thedailybeast.com/heading-off-the-next-pandemic?ref=home

"As long as humans encroach on nature, pandemics are inevitable—making it important to concentrate resources in areas where people and wildlife are linked"

"As the COVID pandemic heads for a showdown with vaccines it’s expected to lose, many experts in the field of emerging infectious diseases are already focused on preventing the next one.

They fear another virus will leap from wildlife into humans, one that is far more lethal but spreads as easily as SARS-CoV-2, the strain of coronavirus that causes COVID-19. A virus like that could change the trajectory of life on the planet, experts say.

“What keeps me up at night is that another coronavirus like MERS, which has a much, much higher mortality rate, becomes as transmissible as COVID,” said Christian Walzer, executive director of health at the Wildlife Conservation Society. “The logistics and the psychological trauma of that would be unbearable.”"

You do realize the inventor of the test said specifically never to use it for infectious disease diagnosis?
So you trust Facebook posts from random attention whores?

You do realize that the inventor didn't say that? https://www.aap.com.au/pcr-inventor...y-his-test-wont-work-for-covid-19-infections/

I've had around 12 infected around me at work, ~80% of them tested positive for COVID-19 with these tests. Actually, the remaining 20% felt exactly the symptoms of covid-19 (cough, total loss of smell, taste), but received negative (most likely they were false negatives). So even if those tests show something wrong - they give a wrong NEGATIVE result, not a wrong POSITIVE result. Google it - there's multiple articles about that.

The problem is not in the tests, the problem is how conspiracists are fucking up everything at a time of a crucial fight. Also I love how you conspiracists are always asking rhetorical questions rather than answering your position in detail based on science. Yeah, I trust my government better than I do some random guy with a fake profile commenting on Facebook (where you probably found your "truth"). By the way, what does my government has to do with some video blogger of some other country lol?

To those who are concerned about getting COVID-19, these are the things you should consider ACCORDING to a SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH & not to some quacks on FB:

Vitamin D (up to 4000 IU daily max.)
Vitamin C
NAC supplement (600 mg)
Zinc
At least 7 hours of daily sleep

* You also should talk to your doctor about it - not all people are equal, so you should talk with the professionals about it first.
But personally for me, living in northern part of Europe - I do take Vitamin D (1000 IU) & Vitamin C daily and I am considering to add NAC supplement & Zinc due to rise of cases in my country.

Also a fun one - no matter what you've read on popular websites, the scientific research shows that if you are a current smoker - it is better not to quit smoking in order to prevent COVID-19 (yup). Of course it's still recommended because of ton of other potential life threatening diseases.

I can not say a single word about Fauci, because I'm not from US and I don't know much about him.

What I don't believe is that all of the world's governments (including China, Russia, US, Germany, Japan, basically ANY, EXCEPT NORTH KOREA) is doing something "behind the eyes of the public". I would believe if it was like 3-5 countries (with related interests) in the world doing this, but definitely not when all of the countries are saying the same. I have never seen that half of my workplace would be sick with the flu, all at almost once, even with the worst influenza pandemics. Even countries like Sweden who were very skeptical about this are changing their tone these days.

Vitamin D Deficiency in COVID-19 Quadrupled Death Rate; 80% of Covid patients Vit. D deficient

  • A new study that looked at 216 people with COVID-19 found that 80 percent didn’t have adequate levels of vitamin D in their blood.
  • The study also found that people who had both COVID-19 and lower vitamin D levels also had a higher number of inflammatory markers such as ferritin and D-dimer, which have been linked to poor COVID-19 outcomes.
  • A different study found that COVID-19 patients who had adequate vitamin D levels had a 51.5 percent lower risk of dying from the disease and a significant reduced risk for complications.
  • Medical experts theorize that maintaining adequate vitamin D levels may help lower risk or aid recovery from severe COVID-19 for some people, though more testing is needed.

Experiencing Smell Loss Due to COVID-19? Lemon and Rose Could Help

“About 60% of people acutely affected by COVID-19 will get smell loss; of those that get smell loss, about 10% get persistent symptoms that last for more than four weeks,” said Carl Philpott, professor of Rhinology and Olfactology, Norwich Medical School. The issues associated with this can range from loss of perception of flavour, poor quality of life to not being able to detect hazards like gas leaks, he said.

Along with researchers from across Europe, Philpott and his team published a study last month revealing that smell recovery is possible through the process of smell training. This involves sniffing at least four different odours twice a day every day for several months. It is recommended that the training take place for at least six months. The participants received a variety of smell training kits consisting of different odours, including eucalyptus, clove, lemon and rose.

There is an ongoing study in the U.K. that is exploring smell training in patients who’ve specifically had COVID-related smell loss, noted Philpott. “When that’s completed, we’ll have more data on that.”

I'm afraid there will be a new series of lockdowns globally...coming soon to the US I'm sure.

Boris Johnson announces new lockdown for England as NHS at risk of being overrun

He instructed the public to stay at home as he announced that from tomorrow all schools and non-essential shops will be closed in England. GCSE and A-level exams are now also unlikely to go ahead as planned.

The prime minister made his decision to lock down the country again after he was shown evidence that the number of Covid patients in hospitals in England has increased by nearly a third in the last week alone, to almost 27,000. New daily confirmed cases also reached a record high of 58,784.

At the same time, the UK’s chief medical officers agreed to raise the Covid alert level from 4 to 5 for the first time, indicating a risk that health care services could be overwhelmed within 21 days.
