information Top Topics: $168,000 of Domains Sold This Week; Will There be a Surge in Bitcoin Domain Sales?...

Spaceship Spaceship
In this week's Top Topics, several investors share their recent sales and successes. Firstly, we have Riz Memon, who reported $168,000 in sales this week. Then, there's an investor who made an $11,420 return on investment on a two-word .COM, and thirdly we feature the story of a new domainer making strides in the industry.

Elsewhere, there's an end of year registrar poll, and will there be a surge in Bitcoin-related domain sales?

I Sold $168,000 Worth of Domains This Week

Riz Memon, the founder of EmpireNames, has revealed that he’s had the best week in his short two-year domaining career. Riz was able to share three sales that amounted to a total income of $168,000.

Those names were collectively acquired for a total of $22,100, giving Riz a net profit of $137,000 for the week. I can’t think of many who would be unhappy with that return on investment.

Will There be a Surge in Bitcoin Domain Sales?

What a week it has been for cryptocurrency. Bitcoin surpassed previous highs to shatter the $20,000 glass ceiling. By Friday, the price of one Bitcoin rose to over $23,000, with other cryptocurrencies also rising in value. The bullish run may see an additional run on Bitcoin domain sales.

From late 2017 to early 2018, when Bitcoin’s price was high, it produced sales such as CryptoWorld.com for $195,000, CryptoRate.com for $99,888, and CryptoGame.com for $85,000. Will we see another surge in cryptocurrency-related domain sales?

From $80 to $11,500 in 10 Months

What a way to end the year for this domain investor. After acquiring a two-word .COM domain for $80 in February 2020, this domainer has just achieved an incredible return, selling the name for $11,500 resulting in an $11,420 return on investment before fees.

The sale, according to this discussion, happened via Afternic. The investor originally acquired the domain at auction and was surprised at the lack of competition in the auction that resulted in just an $80 acquisition fee.

My 5 Month Domaining Journey

After a thirteen-year break between discovering the domain industry and rediscovering it, this investor dived in and bought some domain names. Here, the domainer shares their journey so far from the rediscovery to the present day in a captivating and motivational read.

Despite being such a new investor, they have managed to sell several names and reported closing four deals in November alone. That streak continued into December, too, with close to $6,000 in sales.

Great selection of topics, @James Iles

Will be interesting to see how the 'choose 3' will impact the favourite registrar poll.

I actually had just discovered @blogspotter excellent post minutes before this summary came out. Well worth while reading, and in many ways both illuminating and inspiring.

@Riz M. sure has been on a path with incredible sales. Nice to read about his success.

Thanks again,

Bob
