Hello All,

I sold a domain for $11,500 via Afternic which I bought at only $80 this February, I am very happy with the sale and I would like to especially thanks to AbdulBasit's introduction of the magic power of Afternic to me, because after reading his experiments I decided to move all of my domains from Sedo to Afternic, and since June till now I have already sold 6 five-figure domains through Afternic, it is performing much better than it used to be at Sedo.

And I felt very surprised that there was almost no one competing with me on the domain when it was being auctioned at SnapNames. By the way, the keyword of the domain has only about 7 TLDs taken according to dotDB. Normally I could only sell domains with such data value for about $1k to $2k each when I was with Sedo.

Could you elaborate this little further? When you were with Sedo you used to sell similar kind of domain for $1k - $2k so what exactly changed when you moved to Afternic? Did you remove BIN prices so when you receive an offer you work with Afternic broker to sell at best possible price? Or did you just increase BIN prices for all domains and they are selling at higher price through Afternic.

First of all, congrats. For me, the domain still redirects to sedo parking, so I'm not sure if you haven't switch the landing page for this one or if the new buyer parked it. The domain itself is the same as lot's of others new age social media domains, which could never sell, or which could sell for lot's of cash. I would have paid $80 for thumbnail.com but not for t.....maker and I would have priced t.........maker for around 1k. That shows how valuable is to know more about niches.

Congrats, a fantastic sale! :) Do you set such a high price on all of your names, or you were certain that this specific domain is so valuable? I wouldn't even hand reg such a name, maybe that is why I've had zero 5-figure sales since I started domaining LOL :D
