Just sold InvestReit.com for $55,025.

It was a Handreg back in 9/26/17. So three years.

3 years of renewals about $24.

Reit means Real Estate Investment Trust.

This is officially the highest "Reit" domain sale. The highest one previously was only $24,000.

And the fourth highest "invest" domain sale.

The sale technically happened around Thanksgiving so I have a lot to thankful for.

Special thanks to @epik and @robmonster for facilitating the sale!

And yes I got permission from the buyer first before I posted this.

Best of luck to everyone!
Happy Holidays!

What kind of lander do you use? (parking at Epik?)

What do you do if you are approached by a flipper , such as a GD agent , or domainagents?

What did Epik do except acting as marketplace?

........
I get messages at Epik landers, but they are blank, they give their phone and email, but don't type any real content, and probably they are not buyers either.

I spent much of my day helping guys close deals. It is vastly easier to do that when the domains are registered at Epik so please keep that in mind when asking for help to close a deal.

Shoot the moon technique recapped here:

https://www.namepros.com/threads/yall-wanna-shoot-the-moon.1162085/

In a world where the rich got richer, it essential to try it, and then back into leasing or payment plan before dropping down to the very weak "Make offer" stage of the discussion.

And with cryptos through the roof, don't forget to present crypto as an option if you think your prospect is potentially a crypto holder. The crypto holders had a really good month.
Hey Rob, Does a domain have to registered at Epik to be listed for sale or pointed there?

Congrats @WhoaDomain.com and @Rob Monster

I sold a similar name back in 2014

(city name) + REIT .com

It was also a handreg (I registered it at $2.17)

I originally had it priced at $50K but I played with the price and the buyer caught it at my bin of $7597

Nope, as long as you are the domain owner, you can list any domain at any registrar. It is also possible to use the SSL landers even if domains are not at Epik.

They don't just look good but we help clients close deals if they want the help. We specialize in closing inbound leads and have pretty good analytics when it comes to vetting inbound inquiries.

Many congratulations on your sale. (y)

Such sales changes the whole perspective about domain name sales and prices.

Thanks again for sharing it.

that's great sale
but it can give wrong impression to newbies and even lesser newbies that such things are frequent. like the post above this one...

I mean u basically won the lottery here... with odds of say 1 in 1million ;)

I am afraid there will be a frenzy of REIT+keyword and keyword+REIT in all sorts of TLDs being hand registered without people realizing that REIT is not a Novel investment field, in fact it is a very boring investment that has been around for a while and there is no mad rush of money into actual Reit. In fact, with so many people working from home, and commercial rents plummeting, they will be badly hit.

agreed
this is why it's a lottery win
as are all recent handregs selling for 5 figures...let alone for 50k plus...

Agreed but.................. you focus on commercial Reit's.

I'm banking on

MobileHomeReit.com
CellTowerReit.com
DataReit.com Data
SeniorReit.com
ShoppingReit.com (not mall Reit. I'm talking strip malls that contain big box stores and supermarkets)

Mobile Home Reit looks to be real winners in a down economy.

No NDA; sold on Afternic. Two "similar" names sold for $8,300 each to the same company, which gave me the idea for the longer version (the sales were reported on your research list). The company used my name for their developed website, instead of the other 2.

Thanks! Agreed. As for the shorter 2, I didn't wasn't involved with those sales (during my research on the weekly sales reports, I saw those 2 sales and handregged the longer version with a GD coupon code :xf.wink:)

no. Buyer came in at $10,000 and I came in at the price of the highest but closest comp to InvestReit.com which was investmentproperty.com.au at $127,000.

InvestReit.com is short and in king. I explained to buyer that technically I could have asked for more than what investmentproperty.com.au because .com.au is not as good as .com.au.

Honestly. I think I wouldn't be wrong to ask above $127,000 or even just asking flat out $127,000.
I don't think it would have been unreasonable given the comp.

but did realistically in "real time" while on the phone with buyer dropped it down to the $50,000 just to get it "done" I told buyer. buyer appreciated the serious discounting in price.

took some time and decided to go with $50K the extra $5K was for financing and processing fee for Epik to handle the transaction.

It's very awesome and creates trust with buyer when the CEO of the processing company handles the transaction personally and takes your calls.

Rob really help facilitate. I'd pay the 9% commission gladly for that on $50,000 which the buyer agreed to shoulder the cost.

Please note Buyer had difficulties with securing financing via Lendvo and DomainCapital.

I assume with financing from any other options the financing would have ended up in the end being an extra $5K anyways at the end.

So win win for both buyer and seller.
