Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Is this thing new?

Tried to add a WLM-listed name to one of the contests and got this. Looks like now you need to pay $3 per WLM domain or accept a 20% commission instead of 7.5% (min. $300) in case the name sells on their platform.

Show attachment 175619
If one chose to sell SH portfolio via WLM, there was 10% commision from SH commision of the sale, which made around 2.5% of whole amount. Now its been changed to max 500$ meaning if you manage to facilitate a sale of 20k, you will recieve 500$ and if you manage to sell a 100k plus name, your commision will still be 500$ 🤷‍♂️

So WLM is not 7.5% any longer, if it ever was. Why am I not surprised.

It is 7.5% for names we own. Wali is talking about selling others people's domains on the WLM.

Unless it's a premium name that we own, in which case we get the regular commission + 20% of SH's commission.

If you have some examples that would be great. Not sure what you mean by regular commission plus 20%. Also not sure what this $300 to $500 fee that was talked about means.

I guess participating in the contests comes with a high price and then WLM is no longer 7.5%. Thats what I was reading into this.

Say you sell xxxxx.com for $2999.

1. Standard, WLM | Your Commission $2,774.08
If this is a standard name and it sells through the WLM, your commission is 92.5% ($2,774.08)

2. Premium, WLM | Your Commission $2,279.24
If this is a premium name it sells through WLM, your commission is 70% + 20% of SH's commission (in this case, 2099.30 + (20% of (30% of $2999)), or $179.94) = total seller commission of $2,279.24

3. Premium, SH | Your Commission: $2099.30
If this is a premium name and it sells through the SH marketplace, your commission is 70% ($2099.30)

4. Premium, Not owned, WLM | Your Commission: $89.97
If this is premium name that you or SH do not own and it sells through your WLM, your commission is 10% of SH's commission (10% of (30% of $2999)), or $89.97

What have you changed since your below post in your approach? Lowered prices, participating in more contests or this simply shows the unpredictable nature of domaining?
In late October I adjusted pricing on domains listed at sh for more than 12 months. I don't like selling around the $1500 range, but it was nice to move some older inventory.

check your pricing

I am doing 15% discounts each Monday, is this strategy good or lowering the bin's prices by 15% works better ? Thanks for helping me out in this...

SH Sales report November 2020

The beginning of November was quite slow but towards the end of the month things picked up. In October i reduced pricing <$2000 for a number of my listings that had been for sale at sh for > 12 months. Currently i have 591 premium listings. Here are sales from November.

Lumeto / com
ExpandPay / com
BitDirect / io
JobArc / com
Yonovo / com - this was sold at afternic

4 of the sales were <$2000
1 sale was a 12 month instalment plan

In 2019 i had 13 total sales on squadhelp with approximately 250 premium listings. To date in 2020 with a portfolio more than twice the size, am sitting at 22 sales.

Like Grant mentioned, it's very different for each seller and each portfolio. I'm happy with my STR throughout 2020. There's no decline so far. And it's better than it was in 2019 and way better than it was in 2018. But to be fair, I have been doing A LOT OF homework. I have a large Excel document that I use every day and I do A LOT OF different analytics on my own. And then make decisions accordingly.

In comparison, I'm not doing good on my own on Afternic. I believe it's because I just put my names there and hope they would sell somehow (=no homework). And they do occasionally, but I don't have a consistent stream of sales like I have on Squadhelp.

Please can you give me a hint on how you used Excel to monitor and analyze your domains on Squaldhelp.. Maybe it could help me improve on my overall experience over there.

Thanks..

Hi,

Newbie here.

I was wondering if price and description of the domain affects the approval?
Have you ever leave it empty and submit for review?

Which one do you choose: to be reviewed by expert, or by SH?

Welcome to NamePros!

The experts and SH reviewers do not see the description when reviewing the names. I always leave it blank. It is too much work to write beautiful descriptions for names that may not be accepted.

Just one thing.. Payouts. I think this is the most limited platform in this regard. Let alone Paypal is very limiting (to most developed countries, for most it works in Send-mode only, you can't actually receive payments in most countries), but also it is very-very hard to find 'Happy Paypal Customers' - from what I've heard 95% are unhappy with PP.

Payoneer actually can lock you out out of the blue with no reason and you can hardly get hold on anyone from the support (my personal account was locked for almost 2 months and I still can't get a reason why (which is actually where paypalish) ).

What I am saying is, they are scream on every media channel how progressive they are, yet they have only 2 worst payout options (+wire for amounts over $10k, which I don't understand, since GoDaddy or Afternic can wire you $50...).. No Bitcoin or any crypto, no local bank transfers or sepa, no card withdrawals.. Look at Dan, jeez.

And for all this they take 25% on average. How really 'progressive' they are when they don't even have crypto payments or sepa/wire for any amount (since fee is standard on these, no matter if you send $50 or $20k).

I am in the same boat as you. Paypal does not work in my country and Payoneer closed my account too. I have a marketplace balance on SH that I cannot withdraw because of the limited payout options.

It's even a relief to hear they told you that wire is for amounts over $10k. They flat out told me they do not offer wire transfer. Seems I have to sell $15k in domains before I can get my money. @GrantP

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I wanted to share some strategies you may want to consider adopting in 2021.

1. Ensure every domain is classified targeting its niche. Add a detailed description that will connect your name to that niche and make it clear to a buyer what the brand represents. Include keywords in the description as well as 3 strong root keywords. Choose appropriate categories that connect to your keywords and description.

2. Price names competitively with other similar names listed in the marketplace.

3. Ensure each name has an appealing logo that will catch the attention of perspective buyers.

4. Offer discounts to make your names more appealing to a buyer. When a discount is applied, potential buyers who shortlisted your name will be notified of the discount via email if they did not previously receive an email alert about a price change

5. Apply super boosts to your names weekly.

6. Submit names to contests frequently.

7. Promote your names, public profile or WLM on social media.

8. If you have keyword rich domains you can reach out to companies that may be interested to inform them your name is listed at Squadhelp.

9. Include your names in the Afternic listing program.

Since Squadhelp’s ai system shows buyers names based on their recorded interests; the keywords, descriptions and categories are extremely important to be filled out completely and in as much detail as possible.

There’s a lot of pieces to the puzzle and it takes a big investment in ones time to ensure your portfolio is getting in front of as many potential buyers as possible. Hard work, dedication and attention to detail is the recipe for my success.

LOL ... have you been paid to write all this?

Merry Christmas to you too!
