Hi,
can someone please give me advise is it wise to buy two word domain with hyphen.
For example domain cmykcartridges.com is selling for 10000 dollars and cmyk-cartridges.com for 10 dollars.
Question is are there potential buyers for a domain with hypen considering that cmykcartridges.com is selling for 10000 and is probably too much for most potential end buyers.
I hope there are end users that dont care about hypens (beacuse 10000 is too much) or am I wrong.
I am still beginner and learning and reading this forum.

Thank you,
Goran

  • Domain names with hyphens are hard to spell,

  • When entering the Web is easy to write wrong or missed, that will lead to traffic loss
  • Therefore domian with hypen is more valuable and precious
I hope this can help you, if you have any questions, please feel free to communicate:xf.smile:

Remember, just because someone is selling a domain for $XXXXX doesn't mean that its worth it. Personally, I would never even hand register cmykcartridges.

?? “😧” huh??
Not sure what you’re saying here.

You note that they are hard to spell, Then you note (with a misspell) they are more valuable!!

Hi

yeah and he misspelled "domian" above, as well :)

it depends on the words on each side of the hyphen
for instance, i sold : braided-rugs.com and other hyphenated domains in the past.

everything......always depends on the "actual domain" in question.

imo...

I thought so it would sound complicated for two word domain regardless that cmyk is popular in printing business. Finding a two word domain that make sense and that words have value and of course arent taken gives me a headache. Thank you for your time :xf.smile:

I found out that there a lot of two words with hyphens that aren't taken, of course with obvious reason.
Reading NP blogs came to an article that hyphens.com came to 3% of the overall sales .com.
Losing a small amount of money for hyphens .com just to give it a shot is acceptable.
Thank you for your time and sharing examples of domain that you sold:xf.smile:.
