Great buy!

Congrats on the win of that nice domain name!

Congratulations!

If the Bot was really not there then this could be because of alpha-numeric nature of this domain which sometimes doesn't fit into their algorithm otherwise, please do check bidding record once again especially before $880 price range and won't be surprised if you find them there :)

don’t see HD bidder id 913932 anywhere

i know their id number by heart...it’s stuck in my head 913932

when girls ask me for my phone number, i sometimes yell out 913932 by mistake

Estibot says my domain is worth $240
Godaddy says it’s worth $6841

who is right???

I won the name at $5000 and some change but had a proxy set to pay upto $11,111 to win the name.

I really really like the name. I asked 4 of my non domaining friends and 2 of them said they loved it and the other 2 said they don’t like to type numbers.
One of them said i should rather buy money. com for $5,000. Then I told him they wouldn’t sell me money. com not even for a million dollars...he didn’t believe me. Average joe’s don’t know anything about domain values...i feel like it’s still too early in the game.

Anyways, what do u guys think about this domain money247 ... did i overpay? is estibot correct?

Don't take any valuation tool seriously they are based on certain assumptions and past known sales. However in Domain industry more than half specially big sales are neither reported nor happen in these marketplaces but mainly done privately by expert brokers under NDA clause.

If you like it is worth and if you are happy believe in your gut feeling and don't ask many people for opinion. Also please consider 5-10 years waiting period for best return. If you try to flip immediately you may feel that you have overpaid but if you think as long term investment it is certainly a fair value.

Also please remember you gave this price in live auction. Thus atleast there is one sane person certainly not Bot who also perceived same price & valuation for this domain.

Good luck...

PS: Money247 means Money 24 hours in all 7 days :)

Hi, what does 247 mean?

247 is short for 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Money never sleeps :) so this name is a real gem for English speakers.

Neither Estibot nor Godaddy. I really think your domain is worth more than what Godaddy says, to the right buyer of course.

your domain is worth what the eye of the beholder thinks, but its a solid domain and you should make a profit on it. Congratulations!

Great name. There is a mobile app which runs on .co extension.
If you have outbound sales in mind - they could be a potential target.
Name highly suitable for for Bankers, Money lenders, Wall Street related Business. They say Money never sleeps in Wall Street.

I think $5k for this name is good, because you have still space for profit. Nice job.

I had to lol at the 5k for money.com. Goes to show how most outsiders view domains

The name is OK but IMO OP paid close to end user price. A few months ago I sold an aged two-word finance .COM domain for low $xxxx.

I think you have paid an extra 3 thousand dollar. $ 2000 should have been a fair price.

Good name..
Value is higher than GD appraisal, but I think you overpaid, wholesale price should be half of paid amount.

Great name, but overpaid. IMO.

Just a heads-up that this thread currently sits comfortably at the second page on a Google search for the domain name.

No offence to anyone's opinion but, all the 'you overpaid' comments will be clearly visible to a potential buyer.

You guys are correct i did overpay, but i think i got lucky since i had my proxy bid set at $11,111 to buy this name.

if that second highest bidder bid $10k, i would have ended up paying close to my max bid $11k.

Luckily auction ended Saturday so less bidding competition in my opinion.

if you really like a domain name these days and it’s listed at an auction, you have no choice but to over pay to win it.

i think a fair wholesale price is $3000 so i probably overpaid $2000 but it’s ok because i really really liked this name.

I don't think you overpaid given the current aftermarket auction pricing, but that also means today the name is worth more retail than 2-3 years ago. Anyone saying otherwise should check and see what kinds of domains are selling @$2k-$3k wholesale because the majority of them are not of the same or similar quality and a lot of the times outside of SEO domains, they are a lot worse. Even at the 2 party level i.e domainer to domainer getting an extremely flexible premium money+word.com domain with high level aggregation potential in .COM is extremely difficult i.e domains that can be used for absolutely anything finance related not domains like makemoney.com (not saying money247.com is better) which would be specifically targeted.

If a company wants to signal their intent to be focused on money/finance by having Money in their name but doesn't want to be specifically tied to any micro-niche, this is the kind of name that could be very appealing. Most of these kinds of names are long gone and developed. In all honesty I remember making lists of top financial domains when I was starting domaining in 2016 and Money247.com was 100% one of the names in the top 100 or 200 names I came up with.

Similar domains:
MoneyNews.com---> Owned by NewsMax.com
MoneyWorld.com --->Developed business
Money360.com ---> Developed business
MoneyHouse.com --->forwards to MoneyHouse.ch
MoneyMarket.com---> Owned by Digimedia inc
MoneyHub.com ---->Developed business
MoneyWeb.com ----> forwards to MoneyWeb.co.za
MoneyNet.com----> Mark Monitor
MoneyNetwork.com ---->Developed business

If I owned it I would expect at least mid $xx,xxx for it and of course to get that I'd be asking more and waiting longer but it's a name worth holding for the right end user. IMHO it's very hard to replace this kind of domain in a mid-tier domain portfolio.

Also don't look at any auto-appraisals outside of estimating bidding activity potential at auction as most noob domainers will use GD appraisal to value domains at auction so the higher the valuation (in .com) the more bidders you will likely see. Appraisals should be done by yourself without the use of a robot. Use your intuition and experience....if you got this for $5k I think you've got a good bit of both :).
