Before getting into the domain industry I want to know why would any person or company want to buy domain names from us as they will already have a domain name with a website.

How will it help their business? their brand or search engine visibility.

thanks.

Hi

good question!

majority of "buyers and sellers" in this "trade", imo, are other domainers.
collectively, we/us hold many of the most desirable domains that "may be for sale".
so, who you gonna call when you want a good one? :)
despite what you may have heard about high sales prices, they/we, keep the cycle turning

and out of that "spin" ...
some domains get sold to > end-users
end-users, are supposedly the group (people/businesses) who will or plan to develop the domain or use as extension/upgrade to, or for their existing url.
that.... is the answer to the "why" they would be willing to buy from "us", in your question.

to me, when you're soliciting, it's not proper to imply seo benefit, unless it already has some,
however, if the domain doesn't speak for itself, then no words you convey will likely change perception.

hope dat gives some insight

imo...

how do we find those thousands of business

Typically you WAIT years until you get a decent offer.

Even many "perfect" (exact-match) domain names will not immediately attract serious offers.

This is a long-term game, unless you want to try to buy third-rate names for $25 and immediately flip them for $75 here on the bulletin boards.

I doubt many people actually make much money using that business model... when you add up all the time spent and all the failed attempts at flipping.

You dont, if you buy decent names, they will come to you. If you hand-reg crap names, you will get stuck with them and eventually they will expire.

I have purchased similar domain names 1. To Prevent copycats from getting the domain 2. It could be a benefit in the future if you want to expand and branch off a "sister" store. 3. I couldn't afford to buy a brick & mortar so I became an online store with a lot of the perks .but less fuss & much cheaper 4. a domain IS property,you buy at .99-$20 on average and it has the potential to be worth thousands or millions in the future 5. Fun & addictng 6. there are many channels to sell on and you might want to use different domains ,but same products with each different channel. 7. It is DEFINITELY a necessity with the Covid situation.

they will find you. Clever advertising on Facebook,Instagram,Tik-tok. I even think low cost flyers in the coupon section you get a few times a week could draw in curious clients.And DEFINITELY YOUTUBE!!

Well, several reason IMO.

1 - The company recognizes that another domain name may better describe and communicate their current and their future business offerings;

2- The company may have a new product / service line or subsidiary and wish to independently offer same under its' own domain banner;

3 - A company may wish to keep a good or perhaps great domain name from a competitor - a strategy I've used in my early days for some small business sites;

4 - A company may wish to use " another name " as a point or redirect to their main website - a strategy I've used in my early days for some small business sites;

5 - ETC.

And bear in mind some names take months, some take years and some will possibly a lifetime plus to be sold by one's heirs, if ever.

Social media makes dependent on the operators. I can be blocked at any time. A unique domain is the basis for a successful internet presence.

One Man's trash is anoter man's treasure. Have you looked at some of the crazy domains that have sold for obscene profit? And to me domains are real estate. When I begin my home rehab buying adventure, I plan on buying more than one property. I will hopefully buy, fix flip a few and also have a few designated rent outs. I just found out the other day that you can earn money wit a parked domain. I'm going to look into that later, I enjoyed my first day here. Interesting, a litttle intimidating yet enlightening. Thank you for letting me on board this ship. I look forward to our future adventures. I have to go tend to my garden of stocks, It's a good day for reaping and sowing. TTYL😄
