The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Domaining is a mental game. Buy good names and wait until the right offer comes along. Unfortunately when the sales dry up its tempting to accept the first final offer that comes along, this is where it gets tough mentally. If you can afford not to sell and believe in the name and you know its worth more and there is a market then you need to win the mental game and play a longer game.

Thank you for comments, That's definitely true. I will wait for the time..

Others have given good advice.

Domaining is not my primary or even secondary gig. So I accept the fact that I have to wait long and watch paint dry.:xf.grin:

If I had 36 hours in a day, then I would change my whole strategy, by buying quality names, frequenting auctions, other platforms, focusing more on selling etc.

If you are 100% Sure that your Domains have the Quality, then just hold on to them and wait for the best. Waiting for the right buyer is always better than desperate selling.

The starting point in the domain game is the worst place to be, to be honest. Wouldn't want to go back in time and start it all over again. Eventually, I wouldn't touch domains if I knew... :)
It takes much time, money and determination to get somewhere. And I know what I am talking about. Also super easy to f* up, specially for net newcomers.

Starting with just handful of domains, I wasn't able do it full-time, yet I haven't had the money to buy assets I could flip. So I started acquiring domains at a pace (3-5 a week, while getting also rid of some for low prices). 50 domains, 100 domains, it still wasn't enough. The break point happened for me at 350-400 domains, 5 years from when I started. Just from there I was able to make living off domains alone. So I had 3-5 inbound inquiries hitting my inbox basically every single week.

Apparently, the numbers here are completely meaningless. Also, I am talking ccTLD. So it might be 1000 of slightly worst average quality domains or maybe 100 of higher quality domains... All I wanted to say is, that you either need to spend money and/or time to get there. If you break mentally or financially on your way there, it's not gonna happen. If you feel you're slipping - not enough sales, finances drying up... you better work your ass off to keep on track. Outbound, development, alternative monetization, whatever is possible.

So focus, determination and financial management is everything in this game. If you lost your focus, take a break, check if your domains are all renewed for at least one month and do not touch em for at least two weeks. Don't even think about it.

You'll see.

Domain investing is fun for me so I never have to try to stay focused.

There are many approaches to domains. I'd recommend finding what's most interesting and fun for you.

If you've tried this and it's just not fun, then maybe think about spending your time and energy on something you enjoy.

You have to first answer why did you get into domaining? Are you in for a quick score or the long term?

It can be quite boring and quite lonely.

Do you own names that have commercial value?

My last sale was in 2015. Since then, I rarely visit Namepros and DNF. I focused on the social media. Then the social media has become a harsh place, I get banned for opposing an ideology, even if my comments were objective and non-insulting. I could say, I will add more time for domaining this time and less social media.

I only get offers when I stop thinking about getting offers. New name opportunities are a daily event. Most days I see nothing good that will be affordable (many good ones out of my range).

What are we waiting for? For someone to have a eureka moment and find our domain to be a perfect fit for his world changing idea (you never know). If you cannot reply fast or don't have a way for them to buy the name instantly, you will miss that eureka moment and you might have to wait many more years for someone else to come along.

I would also like to sell a domain well... My domains are not that bad :)
