Where you guys should have been disagreeing is with the messaging coming out from Trump. There have been some rare cases where he had a view on something, there was some uproar and he changed. The economy would be in better shape right now, plus less cases/deaths if the messaging was better. Masks don't protect the person wearing them from Covid-19 but they are good because they help keep the disease from spreading, however I don't think a national requirement to wear mask is a good idea as it is government over-reach. However, I am grateful that a cure is coming.

Not facts no proof that covering your mouth is a 100% protection against getting covid-19 it helps to keep it from spreading, there are pores in your skin that the disease can creep into or if you don't wash your hands. There are plenty of ways to get Covid-19 without it coming through your mouth.

Just wait when covid-19 starts to fade away and not spread as much Biden will try to take 100% of the credit for a better economy. Even if Trump would have been reelected Covid-19 would eventually settle down and economy improve. Part of what has been going on is governors are shutting states down over Covid-19 and that does no help to the economy.

What does no help to the economy are people not following guidelines, Trump has a big hand in this.

Not following guidelines ------------> cases/deaths go up-----------> things get shut down

Things stay open where it's in check.

Sure he will. As did Obama, as did trump before covid. Obama and trump got lucky. They did things right but they had a lot of luck just the same.

I do think covid is actually the one item that did ruin the re-election for trump. If he would have taken it seriously, instead of portraying it as a hoax and not taking appropriate action, there's no doubt in my mind he would have been re-elected.

Look at the world. Most leaders that shut down countries, imposed a lot restrictions, gained in popularity.

People can deal with a narcissist. They cannot deal with someone responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands Americans.

I don't think we could have controlled the virus getting into this country, but you control the response.

When we have 4% of the population and 25% of new cases, that's failure. People like the one I quoted and Trump with the bad messaging, makes things worse. Check the 2 legit sources I posted above.

We could have quarantined systematic people and achieved the same results. Instead, despite several years of scientific research, we locked down our country and destroyed our economy.

If you subtract number of people who died with Covid from total deaths, the number of people who died OF covid is about the same as the flu.

Just as many people have died from neglect, cancer, suicide than the virus killed.

Estimates of the prevalence of infection following the release of restrictions could inform post-lockdown pandemic management. Here, we describe a city-wide SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid screening programme between May 14 and June 1, 2020 in Wuhan. All city residents aged six years or older were eligible and 9,899,828 (92.9%) participated. No new symptomatic cases and 300 asymptomatic cases (detection rate 0.303/10,000, 95% CI 0.270–0.339/10,000) were identified. There were no positive tests amongst 1,174 close contacts of asymptomatic cases. 107 of 34,424 previously recovered COVID-19 patients tested positive again (re-positive rate 0.31%, 95% CI 0.423–0.574%). The prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 infection in Wuhan was therefore very low five to eight weeks after the end of lockdown.
