Sometimes brandable marketplaces (SH, BB, BP, etc) reject your name but you believe it's a great one and should be accepted instead. Why not learn the community opinion?

Vote on other's names:
Click "Like" if you like the name and think it should've been accepted
Click "Thanks" if you think the rejection was fair

Post yours:
Post your rejected name that you think should've been approved
  • Max 1 name per post, no more than 3 names per day by the same member
  • Please, mention the marketplace. You can also explain why you think it should be accepted (optional).
The discussion is allowed and welcomed!

The idea was borrowed from the long-standing Brands.International thread, so thank you so much for that, Marek! :)

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Probably I can start :)

It sounds nice, however according to namebio, names with County primarily sell when they mean actually existing counties. So not so sure about this one.

Hi

you should have a poll, instead of soliciting "like or thanks", because your names got rejected.
cuz i might not like any and you'll have a bunch of disagrees, that really don't apply for NP review system.

also, it's biased, because you only include like and thanks as choices.

imo....

Thanks for the feedback! I agree, it's not perfect. But is there a way to make a poll for every name inside one thread? Cause I don't like the idea to create an individual thread for every name.

I'm not sure why it's biased though.

"Like" means you think it should have been accepted

"Thanks" means thanks for posting the name but the reject decision was fair. So it's a dislike to the name.

Dislike button is not supposed to be used.

Also, you don't have to use buttons and can just express your opinion in a post.

I would love to have a more convenient system for that but just don't see how to make it here on the forum.

Masojo(.)com

Squadhelp

"Masojo" is of African origin and it literally means "Don't panic".

Dunno why most domain marketplace(s) are only looking for English dictionary words when there are several brands out there who took inspiration for their names from other languages like Swahili, Sanskrit, Hebrew, Latin, Spanish e.t.c.

E.g Asana.com/ Sanskrit( A web and mobile application designed to help teams organize, track, and manage their work)

Nivea.com/ Latin(Bodycare brand)

Zuri.com/ Swahili(Aviation)

Your honest feedback is appreciated.

If the biggest brandable marketplaces rejected your domains, then maybe you just need a new marketplace. What criteria those 2 or 3 places use is not a papal edict or anything.

Hmmm. So what do you suggest?

Maybe search out your fellow domainers who have their own marketplace sites, and look for ones who will post your domains for sale. Maybe some would accept a fee for highlighting or featuring some names. Monopolies deserve competition.

And naturally, list on the big generic sites which aren't as selective as BB, SH, etc.

Thanks for posting your name in this thread!

I agree that many well-known brands are derived from foreign languages, however, from what I understand, Squadhelp tends to accept names that sound easy/acceptable to English ears. It may make sense because even though .com is a global extension, it's primarily a US one.

While M a s o j o is pronounceable and has a positive meaning, it's doesn't sound very natural for English-speaking people. So this could be the reason why it was rejected. At the same time, there is a very popular brandable word Mojo that resembles your name (which by the way, also originated from Africa). Also, there are tons of lower-quality names on SH than yours, but they seem to be more selective these days.

You may try submitting it to Brandbucket, Alter, or maybe another brandable marketplace. And see if they accept it. If no one accepts it you may look at some other signs of interest (type-in traffic, offers, trends maybe). If there are none, then probably you might consider it's not a worthwhile investment. However, if you still strongly believe in this name and you have a good reason for that, you could definitely keep renewing it.

Thanks for the deep insight. Have listed the name on generic sites(Afternic and Dan). Awaiting approval on Alter. With what I have heard about BB lately, I don't think I will be willing to list my domain there.
If you're to be an end user pitched about this domain, what will be fair price you will be willing to pay for it?

In this podcast BB Ceo gives a pretty precise example, she likes a pattern of two syllables followed by one syallable https://www.kickstartcommerce.com/f...-with-brandbucket-founder-margot-bushnaq.html

While it is not he only criteria it did work out when I submitted cleanfarmed.com 1syallable word followed by 2 syllable word

caffao.com which I submitted was rejected, maybe the syllables where too mashed or convoluted.

Anyway what do you folk think of Caffao as a brandable?

Lol about the Pro_me suggestion. When it comes to this domain business, we are all lifelong learners. Listing on generic platforms like Afternic, Sedo and Dan might help. You never can tell where your offer might come.

i know i keep calling you a “PRO”...
that doesnt change the fact. Welcome to NP!
