Here is a great example, issued from a generic email address, and in usual GoDaddy etiquette, lacking even the courtesy of a contact name or a signature for such an important landmark event. This is how they notify Epik – two hours after the election was called for Joe Biden – that they will be terminating fast transfer inclusions over Afternic for any of Epik’s current and future registrar customers. Can you say anticompetitive behavior from a group in massive need of antitrust oversight as a monopoly? Epik can, and it is added to a rapidly growing list of unthinkable market behaviors that will be accounted for.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Epik needs to sort their responses to these issues. Maybe hire a PR person or something

Cheap .com and everyone coming dude.
You know the laws of domaining.
You'll want select customers, for better results.

2.99$ .com
1% str.
1000$ minimum sales price.
50% commission.
No transfers except when sale occurs.
The basic recipe.

That or listen to delusional advisors and keep going.
I'd make a new kind of lemonade.

Private banking.
No drama.
Discretion, and results.

I believe GD is a public company (not sure if other's have clarified this). But yes, it is still their prerogative on who they want to do business with.

By private I am referring to the fact that the company is not related to a government, not the financial structure of the company.

Even if a company is publicly traded, it is still private sector and can choose who it does business with, except under certain scenarios like regulated utilities.

IMO, Epik got noticed for the wrong reasons. Out of all the registrars in the industry, Epik gets cancelled by two heavyweights. I don't think it is because these two giants were threatened. I think somehow Epik violated some terms.

Anyway, I think Epik needs an attorney on staff to protect the company from making mistakes and making bad decisions. This should not have happened. For Epik customers sake, they must take greater care of the legal aspects of their business.

What a shame.

underground landers and afternic? If that's true ....

Most endusers would never buy a domain name from Epik, and it's awesome that godaddy has removed that unethical option.

Epik really needs a new PR team that can focus on the actual issues, and not turn everything into political rants and conspiracy theories.

Why?

So our domains listed and enabled Fast transfer will be removed?

@Paul Nicks will there be any explanation given as you are also affecting your own customers who have accounts at GoDaddy, Afternic and Epik.

I just realized I have exactly 50 domains still at Epik. 33 are listed on Afternic. :(

Does Sedo fast transfer have the same reach as Afternic?.....

Something is going to have to give with all these domains at Epik that use Afternic..... they are going to need similar promotion......at least until people fully jump ship

Nah I think Godaddy is a Trump supporter ..Epik just went nuts trying to decide between the 2 ...

Cheers

Godaddy lean left; politics align more Disney.
Speaking of.. Buy Go.com off Disney :)

Good luck @Rob Monster, & entire epik team!

Hi

folks really making a bigger deal about it than it really is

gd just stopped fast transfer, but epik customers can still do manual transactions

some use FT, others don't, so it ain't no biggie in the scope of things
i've had sales on afternic, and names were at fabulous, so it was simple transfer.

you guys should be more concerned as to why you get so uptight about every issue this registrar has.

just saying.....
to be that connected mentality and emotionally, can cause anxiety which leads to stress.

imo....

For some the venting is the stress release......breathe in....vent out....repeat

All good......sharing opinions is what keeps Namepros ticking over

Can anyone remind me if a pushed domain at Epik has a transfer lock for 60 days?

Think they went around poking the bear one too many times. The tweets and other things I've seen on social media, what do you expect.

Seems Rob is into conspiracy stuff and hired sort of a clone, when he should have found another Joseph to balance that out.

No. Sedo doesn't have the same reach

Well they don't have GoDaddy and that's the biggest star in all the distribution networks.

Yes it does. Unless your account is ID verified.

Edit: this goes for the receiving end as well. So if yours is verified, the buyer will get locked nonetheless. An issue I have pointed out before which has not been reacted upon kindly.
