I opened up the discussion as a little bit of an experiment to get members to post one or two of their better domains and to value them at either below -100k or above +100k.

My purpose for the topic was to see if we could have a viable topic where truly high roller domains could be showcased. I was going to use the scoring system to see if there were a couple of stand out winners.

The pickings from the listed domains do seemed to be more controversial than I anticipated, I expected to see some nice one word .com's come up with some good evaluations. By the amount of of topic posts I've had to delete I can see the topic caused a lot of controversy, hence this topic to discuss your feelings thereof.

The clear winner (so far) at 42 voted points is @Riz M. for his Newz.com domain.
His carz.com came in a close second but unfortunately his roze.com was not able to place in the top 3.

So here it is guys....
You are free to discuss your feelings here, let the controversy begin.

DON'T FORGET TO VOTE

Also don't forget to post your top couple of .com's in the topic.
https://www.namepros.com/threads/high-roller-com-club.1211715/

I will continue to update this topic as the voting results change.

Congratulations @Riz M. for taking the number one slot so far.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Most of the names presented were low caliber. I think a more constructive poll would be a lower dollar amount like more than 50K less than 50K. I was wondering when you were going to stop the madness. Hardly anyone here has the kind of quality that thread asked for, me incuded. Riz probably should have been one of few posting 🤣

Most don’t seem to have a clue what a 100 K name looks like. I admit I probably don’t all the time either.

Because of the voting rules I tried to keep it simple.
I stated to post one and two word premium .com's

I also said small letter variances like on newz.com were allowed and I said post if you think it's below of above 100k.

Voters got to say

1. Yes the domain is good and belongs in high roller (a like or dislike)

2. Yes the pricing is correct above or below 100k (an agree or disagree)

Quite simple actually, just disagree and dislike that's all you have to do. The good domains like newz.com will naturally climb to the top.
Anyone think they can beat @Riz M. ? - go ahead, post your best .com's

PS. If the caliber of domains in not up to your standards please keep in mind that newer domainers do not have the same pool to draw from so I would encourage SOME leniency. Then again, newcomers have to make sure they post only what they think is their best and let the community decide.

So show us yours and get in there and vote.

Can anyone displace the current High Roller Leader?

The second law of domaining states that the words ‘premium’, ‘showcase’ and/or ‘high roller’ in a thread title guarantee that the thread will spontaneously devolve to a state approximating next year’s drop list. This law has never been broken in recorded NP history but it’s really just a proposition as it has not been rigorously proven.

Actually, I know quite a few showcase topics that have been active for a number of years, the .ca topic is one of them and so is the .co, the .in and so on. They are all exceedingly active and show no signs of slowing down.

Thank you, the second law addresses name quality, not thread vigor or longevity.

i just meant the thread is a bit ambiguous and subject to interpretation . If someone puts a trash name for under 100K and I hit disagree or dislike am I disagreeing because I don’t like the name, think your insane or think its worth more than 100k? Less than 100 K could mean 5 dollars. Its a bit confusing.

So like means you think its premium

Agree means you think the valuation of below 100k or above 100k is correct

So for a junk domain you would hit dislike and disagree to downvote it by 2

I think a lot of people probably didn't read or understand the rules. I think it's a great idea and thoroughly enjoyed hammering the dislike button as it's something I'd never normally do.
Although I think someone took offence to it as they then went and disliked every post I've made in the domain appraisal thread (from years ago).
Probably 2 percent of the names posted were "high roller" names in my opinion. It's hard to gauge if poster genuinely thought their names are of high quality or if they just took the opportunity to post a name for advertising purposes.

It is just a matter of perception.
If you think your domain worths 100k, it is fine. If others do not see that, it is their opinion and they are entitled to it. Do not create disagreement over nothing.

Truth.

End of discussion.

What are the lessons learned from this high roller thread? I stopped reading after about the first couple of pages. Considering it a pointless exercise to read further with so many poor names being posted. I would like to congratulate @Riz M. though.

No, just kidding

Post your best domain, lets see what score you get

The highest I was able to get was 28 & 23 so Riz is obviously on the right track with great domains.

So who's third? newz and carz are nice but not his best domains by far, imo.
