I think Epik is building the best ever Domain Lander in the history of domaining, and it really needs to be talked about extensively. That's why I am creating this discussion thread. A lot of thought process really goes into the project. And I can see (for the first time) a landing page that is built from the stand point of domainers rather than for just the marketplace itself.

Everything you have ever dreamt of getting or seeing in a professional landing page can be found in the new Epik marketplace landing page design.

Some of my Favorites Features:

1. The ability to optimize your "domain for sale" landing page to actually rank on Google, displaying your sales pitch/domain description. I just did that with few of my generic domain names such as ASAP.TV, targeting certain keywords, and they are showing pretty well on Google. That's a huge plus in my marketing effort.

2. Being able to change background image is another huge one for me. If you are good with pictures and images, you will surely find this very useful. I did that with Nagasaki.org and the result was truly amazing, showing the city of Nagasaki right at the background.

There are too many positive features and I don't want to mention all of them, all alone :xf.grin::xf.grin:

So I am leaving you guys to share and discuss what you loves most or dislike about the new Epik marketplace and the landing pages.

The only negative for me is the checkout process. There are too many terms and conditions buttons to tick before checking out. It will be nice if they can streamline those into one beautiful big button :xf.cool:

They also need to place the checkout button directly under the payment options. Right now it is awkwardly place somewhere below at the sidebar, which I don't find cool at all.

Sales experience is also welcomed in this discussion. I haven't had any sells so far at Epik because I started using the marketplace just recently, but the future is looking so bright.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Just wanted to express missing the convenience of using one payment service at that particular registrar.

I know I'm behind in the news, but what led me to this thread was attempting to register a domain at Epik (and trying to pay via PayPal). Ouch. I am going to miss one of of the smoothest payment integrations I've come to enjoy over the past couple of years of my domain investing journey. Ultimately I ended up registering the domain at another registrar (paying with PayPal).

Personally, I stretched my own morals using Epik knowing their association with recognized, controversial organizations.

You do realize that for the SPLC watchlist designating hate groups, that of the 354 websites and organizations listed on it for termination and service disruption, that GoDaddy has 64 of them, Public Internet Registry (PIR) has a whopping 138, Network Solutions has 14, Tucows has 16, Namecheap has 12, and Dreamhost has 11. GoDaddy not only has Breitbart.com, but dozens of companies that still sell Nazi merchandise to this very day. Cloudflare provides support and protection to 72 of the worst of them, and GoDaddy actively hosts 54 - on top of the many additional domains they provide registrar services to. Plus they collect money for direct privacy services on dozens of them to protect them from the heat.

You stretched your morals using Epik???

I've seen the report getting ready to come out that dispels all of the myths you are peddling, as you attack Epik as a culture of hate day and night like it is your job. The irony as you lecture us repeatedly is pretty simple - the SPLC designated Epik as a hate group because of its "choice and propensity to offer registrar services to far right organizations". We had five organizations on their list in comparison to GoDaddy at 64, but we were the ONLY registrar placed on their watchlist for service termination and disruption. Not even Network Solutions is on there, and they still provide services and privacy protection for kkk.com!!!!

You can reduce this to "mouth-foaming" all you like, we know the objective here is to bury the posts as quickly as you can. The hypocrisy is deep and it will be exposed regardless. I want you to count on it.

Regarding comments to continually lecture us on being "political", GoDaddy is known for being so active in political manipulation and containment of others, that their own staff have reported revolting internally with hundreds of them allegedly terminated. More to follow on that including the strong likelihood of actual interviews from other groups, but here is a sample to bust your bubble of just one collection of real GoDaddy employees writing reviews on what it is really like behind the curtain.

Finally! We can now contribute to this thread. Just signed up with Epik.

First experience: NOT COOL

To welcome us aboard, the site deleted our address. Basically it said Hey, would you like to enter your address now that we deleted it the second you hit Submit? (All fields turned green/okay yet the form simply refreshed upon submitting.)

Many times, by simply going to Epik.com, we got this:

The initial connection between Bitmitigate.com network and the origin web server time out. As a result, the web page can not be displayed.

Different browsers. No difference. We tried again while composing this review. Just for fun. Nada. Same error message. It seems like Epik's default home page by now. Specific bookmarked links work, but not Epik.com.

Will update you on usability once we start ... well ... using it.

Good job on the .Realty roll out, Epik. Nice to see some marketing flare.

I think it pairs well with names and is an elegant alternative to the .com.

I'm apolitical...all I care about is business, btw.

Please accept my posts as constructive. Epik and Rob seemed eager to listen. That was a good thing.

if you create a paypal virtual card key and use it as a credit card at epik, will that work instead of using paypal directly?

Also, I think it is BS to punish a registrar for accepting a domain if there's no content being published on the domain. Do they expect registrars to turn down certain domains if someone initiates a transfer request?

However, until yesterday I had no idea that Epik was a "right wing" organization.. I liked them because their interface is awesome and you can list on sedo and afternic.. etc.

I think any payment "to" or "from" the two deactivated accounts will not go through.

I think PP takes the same position as Epik. Epik is clear that it does release it's right to choose who they provide service to.

Epik, like PP and others, take action when they, at their discretion, determine it necessary.

What the ...?

Just refreshed the page to update our domain list. Minutes after logging in (again). Normally, with every other decent page, it ... refreshes itself and shows what you expected.

Epik starts the process by flashing Goodbye! (at that time you already know something is going to go wrong, and of course it does). The page then confidently and joyfully announces:

You have been successfully logged out.

Like if we wanted that!

Downright annoying. Why are so many people praising this? Even GD with its Ryanair-like attitude must be better than Epik. Not epic at all.

First, welcome to epik! :)

Do you have the NP rate? $8.49 .com renew even if you have 1 domain;

Godaddy requires club plans shell out annual sub (no monthly?) for the pleasure of paying 8.29 rather than $18+ Godaddy .com

Give them a chance;
This is hitjob by “lectist” Paypal playing politics.
Dangerous game, just make amends-both

Its seldom that I involve myself in another companies dispute. Its also important for me not to be blindsided by any actions or disruptions in the future that could jeopardize the account holders portfolio because of lack of details. This entanglement indirectly involve all Epik domain name account holders. Any possible future sanctions against Epik can affect our domain portfolios. In the business world when their are strained relationships you move on and seek a different solution. If a company feels wronged let the attorneys and judicial system litigate the defamation argument. Its only prudent that I pay close attention to the outcome of this issue and hope it will have a amicable resolution. THEN should the company critique its actions going forward and evaluate the strategies it used to commadere compliance. IMO

Whenever I have to check "my transfers", the default sort order is from oldest to newest. I think it should be obvious that people checking their transfers are more likely to be interested in their recent/ongoing transfers than in something they transferred when the Persians were besieging Athens...
Funny (and true).

Smear campaign “cancel culture” intended to wipe out epik (epik inchin closer 1m doms btw..
i trust this small “Ma & Pa” registrar who’s registrar CEO alway always in OPEN;unlike PP Ceo “statement” (most Prevalent company to not give two *^^* Np.
Tell them to comment here; instead “PR bs” why abruptly cancel epik — without warning based on deep-rooted political beliefs and sense of “right” Some transcends politics.
This weak fringe argument Paypal to end epik.
Add to list of leftist threatend “cancel culture”

This actually does remind me of Wikipedia’s
“Cancel culture” out to cancel any registrar which offers a hint to Right. election so close... Paypal “canceled shameless and noted.

it’s sad the leverage each respective side has.
One has market size (mammoth Paypal)
and the other is epik;

Good luck epik

“Anon sources” wont do if cancel culture.

We hear “Anonymous sources” everyday... new term discredit character assassination —
“Russian agents” Cancel culture PP it worst. At least Mashable reliable, trash “anon sources” These are real people; jobes on lines;
Paypal cut intolerance to respectable company simply for being empathic to “right” slight right

Its takes so much work to grow a company. Rob taking calls must inhibit his available time to grow the company.

There is a reason that most ceos prioritize their time based on an inside out strategy rather than an outside in strategy.

I want Rob to focus on perfecting his product.

He should delegate your calls to a qualified surrogate.

I think Samer should get an honorary badge for all the work he's putting in. I remember at the time of the Best Registrar vote and the conversation about all the employees voting, there were 50 at the time. And talk how it might be a problem because they said there would be more. They dropped to 38. So some badges have opened up.
