Hi there

Just need some advice as I have received an email for an offer for one of my domains via support@ unauthorized email address.

The buyer is asking for law compliance certificate for Norway as saying is some sort of protection for the buyer.

The certificate apparently includes - Independent valuation and market price and TM and law compliance verification.

Is this a legit email or fraud?

Any assistance and views are appreciated.

Thanks

Aroon

Which email server are you using? Most likely it's a spoofed email that your server is allowing in, instead of bouncing.

Edit: Their SPF text record is:

min v=spf1 ip4:91.195.240.0/23 ip4:62.116.165.74/32 a:smtp.1and1.org include:_spf.1und1.de include:rnmk.com include:_netblocks.eloqua.com include:trustpilotservice.com -all

The -all will direct mailserver to reject spoofed emails. Your mailserver is probably misconfigured and (have strong doubts that email really comes from Sedo).

The only time sedo could ask you that sort of documents is after a sale was concluded, after/during the transfer process (but when the funds have been secured by Sedo)
For example, I had bought a .NU name on sedo sometime ago and in order to get the registrant contact changed, I needed to send some signed documents and company identification documents to the gaining registrar (for the trade to happen at the registry)
They helped me to get the documents from the owner within a few days after a few exchanges over their purchase chat and phone support

Following on from what @twiki said, you can always look at the source code of an email to see if there are any strange email addresses in the header or weird links in the code.
