I'm not sure I'd call that a very well known word...

Well its a common word.
Everyone has a rough idea of what purulence is.
Right?

Oh yes! I use it in almost every sentence.

Considering how intellectual and well educated Americans are, I'm sure at least 99% of them use it every day.

I'd register pluralistically before I'd even think of getting purulence, almost no one knows the meaning of the latter.

Not a common word either, commo nwords are used every day, try and find that word being used in a newspaper, website or on TV, it wont be easy.

If something is dropped on the street and no one want to pick it up, it must be $hit.

I would rather choose a domain name for the brand without any meaning if it's clear, striking, original, sonant and memorable of five or six letters, even maybe that kind dn of ten letters if it is great than such a word. To me personally it costs $ 0, but tastes vary.
