What do you think of the value of Airportinfo*dot*com

This domain sold in 2009 for $22.2k (link)

It's definitely a good domain, probably worth holding.

Can't be 100% sure whether the 2009 sale was real. I don't think it's worth this price nowadays.
$3k-$6k should be possible with BIN in a few years of holding.
UNLESS pandemic never ends, and international travel stays almost dead.

AirportInfo has sold for $1520 this year. So I'm going to assume you paid that much on it.

The problem: "airport" domains are very weak sales nowadays. They average around ~1k with the term in starting position in the domain.

Don't want to break your hopes, but I think you overpaid for the domain. Again market is not what it was. The demand for the term is also getting lower. To be honest, the "airport" term is a negative term in my domain filters. There aren't enough money to be made in that word for me.

Edit: I just saw that my tools value it at $900 - $1k, which also matches my current estimation.

The good part is, this is probably the best combo you can have for "airport". So there is value.

Another bad news is, as you know, pandemic. This actually kills the whole deal as of today.

I don't think you can sell it today for enough. I would list at $2200 today so I get my investment + some profit, if it sells, having some room for negotiation. But that's a big IF. It will take some years for this situation to clear and airports be back on what they were. So you're looking at some renewals.

To get the most out of it, be prepared to renew it like 5 years or more (until the depression also starts to clear) then it might sell at 3K or abive, hard to predict though with accuracy in the current market.

Thanks for your detailed appraisal twiki!

I indeed bought it for $1520 at auction. There were a lot of bidders in this auction and i bidded against one other bidder from 1k to 1.5k... I had a number of $2500 in mind as my max.

Well I suggested 2200, perhaps make it BIN 2488 and see from there. A few renewals perhaps won't add much to the total cost. But it's a sellable domain.

Good luck!
