Anyway, we now own www.🏳️‍🌈.com and several other extensions.

The deletion of our main thread was supposedly highly expected. I now know the main reason behind their stubbornness to comply with that questionable "policy." The admins/mods were being tested about their communication skills in relation to their reliability, professionality and common sense. We are looking for a good home and this decision will influence ours.

The results are obvious, but we are not negative about this. Yet. We merely invite them to truly communicate about all future matters. Especially since we won't be talking about spare change only.

FYI, even our today's alerts don't quote their decision, and we certainly did not get any responses to any of our answers these "please let us know" days. Not cool (but already forgiven as their in-the-box thinking was actually expected, unlike their silence, ir so I was told).

Finally: was the last drop the comment about NP's old-fashion web/forum design? :)

(Or is it because I am black? Or because I am so short? Or because I am just a limo driver?; if you need an explanation, you don't know your Jim Carrey movies.)

Maybe in the Wrong section like this thread?

Hello,

After reviewing your account we do not see any deleted posts or threads, however, we do see a closed domain name buyer request that a moderator team closed for failing to add an exact budget range as outlined in the rules.
Rule 6.7.2
Exact Budget Range:
Specify an exact numerical range or an exact figure for your budget per item (e.g., "up to $1 million per domain name" in Domain Names Wanted). Placeholders such as "$XX, XXX", $0 (free domains) budgets, and "unlimited" price ranges will not be permitted.
We can also see where the moderator team requested that you update the listing in your thread publicly and by sending you a direct message. They closed the listing after you failed to update it, as per their request.
  1. In thread request: https://www.namepros.com/threads/an...tremely-selective.1212542/page-2#post-7993483
  2. Direct Message request (For internal use ONLY): https://www.namepros.com/conversations/regarding-a-closed-thread.3156669/
We hope that helps clarify why the thread was closed.

The deletion of our main thread was supposedly highly expected
Moderators cannot delete individual threads, and none of your threads have been deleted.

Sometimes, people see what they want/expect to see rather than reality.

The admins/mods were being tested about their communication skills
For us to communicate effectively, we need more from you. Unfortunately, a lot of what you've written has been unclear, vague, or ambiguous. Please be specific and comprehensive so that we can understand all of your concerns.

We hope to better assist.

Now we know. No one had checked, once we read the notification, we accepted that it happened. Fellow NP members did warn us, after all. We simply moved on instead of going in to see the damage. We though it was deleted/delete-able.

It's now clear that our thread is just inactive, but it was not deleted. Effectively the same.

We'll try to communicate with your team(s) even better from now on, but we do expect actual responses.

Our direct message was clear about the reason why we didn't want to quote our budget for each domain, as well as our overall budget toward all potentially acquired domains.

Some 36 hours later we only received the same canned notification again. No one replied to us, though.

We then added a brief line saying that it seemed like someone else within Mod Team Bravo must have sent the same notification about our missing budget (accidentally again), instead of attending to our reply. We guessed it might have been a different member of your team.

It was like, "Hi, how are you today?" "Fine. Has your wife returned from NY yesterday?" "Hey! It's you. How are you?" but we don't mind. Hopefully things will get better (once we point these things out).

By now, we have a fairly good list of potential domains, and we have managed to reply to nearly everyone who offered us domains which are below our standard. This break was kind of practical.

BTW, one of the quoted points was about how pointless it is to quote the exact budget if each NP member can later on completely disregard their initial commitment. We also added several reasons why our case, a bunch of friends coming together and not knowing how good the offered domains will be, cannot fit in the box of your generic policy.

Thanks, though. We hope to learn without breaking your rules, but also without being sent repeated canned messages only (until we complain publicly). Hopefully we will be able to work together on a long-term basis without either party facing similar issues again.

Thank you for elaborating.

For clarity, @Mod Team Bravo has not been involved in the incidents that you’ve described. But yes, you are correct that it’s possible to receive the same message from different moderator teams. It’s also possible for the same moderator team to send you the same message because they deal with hundreds of things every day and may not remember everything.

Please also understand that:
  1. Moderators do not make the rules, and sometimes we may not fully know why a particular rule exists. We are only tasked with ensuring that the rules are followed. We are not in a position to allow you to disregard the rules because you disagree with them or because they do not take your circumstances into consideration.
  2. Marketplace threads and direct messages are not the best place to discuss improvements about the rules. You may be right that a rule needs to be adjusted, but the only way for that to happen is to alert management of it. If your helpful suggestions take place in a marketplace thread, then unfortunately, we have to remove them in accordance with the rules.
With those things in mind, we hope to work together to help you on NamePros.

Thanks!

What a refreshing positive, specific and brief reply.

1. is fully understood.

2. is easy, we did send messages directly to Mod Team Bravo but have only received those two identical canned messages. Only then we complained publicly.

By now we are more experienced. (read: we hope to make less mistakes.)

The funny thing is, after posting day.center in Top Domains yesterday, within minutes one of us checked and found out it's only worth about $1k, not 5+ grand as required to post any domain there. Then we tried to figure out how to move the thread elsewhere (didn't manage to locate that option) but one of the mods moved it for us around that time. It would be great if users, based on their own research and critical findings, could rectify things from their side. Self-regulating features and stuff. Maybe it's doable.

Anyway, even though these domains are only our practice ones, could one or two of them qualify when it comes to your carefully curated Top Domain thread? Just one would be great. We hope to get used to that section, mainly because the "real" future domains of ours will totally belong there. These ones, like Borat might say, no so sure:

@Mod Team Bravo has not received any direct messages from you. You may be thinking of another moderator team.

Excellent suggestion; thanks for sharing it.

We've notated it internally.

Unfortunately, we’re unable to offer domain appraisals ourselves, but we recommend using one of the appraisal sections on NamePros for these types of questions.

We hope that helps.
