To Mask or not To Mask... is there even a question?

Hello Mods and Mems,

Well here we have it. Mandatory mask wearing in public.
Now most of you that know me understand that I am not the kind of guy that welcomes new laws...
infringement on personal freedom... that kind of stuff.
However, their are some laws that have been passed in my lifetime I believe are just plain common sense.

Car seats for kids.
Seat belts.
No riding in the back of pickup trucks.
No smoking in public places.
Stuff like this saves lives.

Wearing a mask in public is not so much for your own protection, but for the protection of those around you.
This is not my opinion. According to the medical professionals, this is a fact.

Lets hear from you.
Without turning this into a political pissing match, those of you who believe against wearing masks in public, please justify your position.

Please keep it civil... no personal attacks.

If you want to get specific - Mullis said don't rely on the test alone without combining it with other tests.
The PCR test is not combined with other testing methods.
High false positive rates have been well known since the plandemic started.

Cao Lanxiu, professor at Shaanxi University of Chinese Medicine, disagreed with suggestions that Mr Li’s son’s mask might have caused him to suffocate to death due to a lack of oxygen.

Ms Cao told local media: “I don’t think mask-wearing has caused this sudden death.”

She said in the vast majority of cases the mask would not have caused the death and added: “If this student had trouble breathing, he would’ve been conscious of that and wouldn’t have continued to run with the mask on until his heart stopped.”

Ms Cao added however that the only way to conclusive proof how Mr Li’s son died was to agree to an autopsy.

@ cal2 if folks aren't masking up by now there is no convincing; hearing the wails and sorrow through the night of lost loved ones; seeing the agony and turmoil right in front of one's eyes; even then. Even then we will tell ourselves it is something else.

Vanity can move a lot of people to do things they wouldn't otherwise do.

Btw, I was being semi-serious about the hair loss thing. But for some people, they're motivated by things that one wouldn't consider to be enough to change behaviour.

the narrative goes on about how he led the charge to fight the virus, getting vaccines, etc.

Wherever it is not a rule by law to wear a mask, I don't wear a mask ...

... not because of "selfishness" but simply because I don't want to support / spread their satanic (fear -) agenda since it is my conviction that whoever wears a mask (where it is not a rule by law) is rather harming society than helping it (although he may have the best intention by wearing it voluntarily - which of course I very much respect (in the hope that he will wake up (and throw it (the mask) into the next bin))).

It's not like people are asking you to wear a jersey for the team you hate the most. It's mask. Big deal.

I'd love to know how many covid cases are a result of people rioting, protesting and attending events, or simply not wearing a mask because they make a fuss about it.

People can have covid without knowing it. The mask is there to stop you from spreading it. That's it. If you have it and cough or breathe heavy, you could be spreading it. Its that simple.

Imagine if the world shutdown for a month back when it made the most sense. Covid wouldn't exist now. Instead, everyone is doing it slowly and separately, which allows it to keep spreading.
