I have not had a sale yet ....Covid slowed things for sure in LBE /LBVR but I do believe in my names also I have some extremely good keywords /venue/venues/studio/studios/arcade...etc

I'll be renewing the lot of them.

“We are excited to bring Synth Riders to the SynthesisVR platform. It’s a solid addition to every operator’s library as the game combines freestyle rhythm fun with a 10-player multiplayer. We believe that after the temporary slowdown, the LBE market will recover rapidly to start growing faster than ever before,” said Pawel Gajda, Marketing Director of Synth Riders in a statement.

HP preparing to ship Reverb G2 VR headsets in November
https://www.tweaktown.com/news/7533...-reverb-g2-vr-headsets-in-november/index.html

If you read that, you might notice yet one more instance of Valve shaping the industry.
I have been noticing it for the last year++ and wanted to point it out this time.
Why does that matter ?
If I were looking to follow trends in my names reg's future, I would look to those that are the shaping of the tech 'as delivered' and what they are working towards for a hedge.

Growth in User-Generated Content Will Drive VR Market Expansion

https://variety.com/2020/digital/gl...nt-will-drive-vr-market-expansion-1234784829/

Despite the hype, I have been waiting on such a moment.
It's still not here. But we can hope it soon will be. ...same as it ever was.
Despite what was said in that, it's not really the 'ease', but the time and resources required to edit 3d-360 video. So, they are not exactly pointing to the problem correctly.
But, you do have many other consideration in taking video that you would not normally have. Like a moving can does not work well. You make the user dizzy/sick. Just more thinking required to plan/produce.
As my father might say... we have britches that are so big, it will take a few years to grow into.
If you have not noticed, PC advancements have slowed down since the smartphone took over.
Convenience over performance.

Well,
Kinda quite as of late. Not much news.
The media finally realized that facebook is turning their vr into a platform. They want to be more like valve and apple. For them, I think it is a bad move but we shall see.

So,
What we have to look forward to is new hardware/software announcements that likely will not come till the end of oct through just before the us thanksgiving holiday.
That may be telling of just how next year is going to roll. Fingers crossed.

I can't see a lot of names sales till we start to have high numbers of HMD ownership.
Just not in the cards for now it seems. Hard to spend money many will not have.
Don't get me wrong, it's growing... just not at a great pace.

Let's see what PS5 does for the growth of VR.

Well, I am not making any inference that the tech is not good and wanted.
It's just a fact of the time that covid has disrupted priorities.
Even if some have the disposable income, they are holding on to it.

I do think xmas will help out with sales and valve/steam, facebook and sony will all add to that.
Just not anywhere what I was expecting in feb knowing new models would be out that are much better than the previous gen.

But for names I worry mostly in this context...
Many start-ups may not survive the next 6-10 months. That makes it harder for new start-ups to get funding.
Start-ups are the main market for names.
You can't sell this stuff to facebook and sony. They have very little need for but a few.

It has removed the exponential growth I have been expecting. One can hope only delay it.
And you have this idea that all these big dogs of the industry are 'platforming' their systems which reduces even more the need for names outside of some brands.

Need for Names was changing way before VR/AR came along. We all see the names sales. Only the more recent names players would not know how it use to be to understand what we lost. Facebook has been the largest part of the cause, especially in the start-ups field.

I recently closed a $3k deal that was a pretty quick flip with an interesting element. It was a six domain package deal with the keyword plus all variations of VR, XR, AR prefixes and suffixes. One month negotiation, transfer done through Epik escrow.

Sounds like a investor purchase, but this one could be otherwise a end user. Hard to tell.
Good job collecting a saleable package.

Received an offer of $600 from a broker on behalf of their client for a VR name a couple of days ago. Still pondering what to counter with.

Using a broker by itself should not say much about the buyer except that it is unlikely a investor.
Without knowing the detail and the likelyhood of near close names available,
I might automatically counter with 1800
They are looking for you to make a floor price to negotiate on. So, IMHO, if you want to sell, I would want to be high but not astronomical.

Keep in touch about what happens.

Thank you. Will do. I have countered, and I'm waiting for a response...

Patients...
I made it rule for myself to reply to offers something just short of 72 hours. buy or sell. I'm sure others have the same self discipline. It helps lower the odds of making rash discussions you may regret. It may play poorly for the one that has 'less patients'. And that is something I never had as a younger guy. Quite the opposite. It has been a acquired taste over the years.

In these trying times... I have been back to some cold calling. Many names I have held for about 8-10 years that were 'sloganistic' I am starting to hear them used in advertising now. I sold some 2 years ago.
The problem has always been getting the message to those in the marketing dept. I speak their language. Saying that is actually funny if you knew the names I am talking about.
I am always learning new tricks to get my message to them, but it's always tough. Each instance is a new situation. You have to be convincing in 6 sentences or less. Less is more.
