Hello everyone.. Yea, I'm pretty new here.

I recently got a domain name e-tutor dot com. dont know if I'm allowed to post links, since my account is new.

I'm about listing it for sale and was wondering, what do you think will be a good price point for this name and how do you think I can get it sold fast?

Experts opinion will really be appreciated. I'm new to the world of domaining, but really interested in it.

Thank you.

Nice domain from 1997. You paid a nice amount at Namejet. I would price it over $10k. Although if you want to sell it fast, then whatever you want to get over what you paid for it.
I like it, nice domain.

Well that's what I would do. Some people would sell it for less, and others... for way more.
I think it's a very good domain. Although I don't like hyphens, this case is an exception.
With all the remote learning going on, having a domain like e-tutor.com is a big win for a related business, in my opinion. A very strong domain.

Thanks Sutruk for your time. I really appreciate it. Didnt really think much of this domain before.. I'm glad I joined the forum and asked..

About the hyphen, in this case its serving as what makes the domain complete.. like E-learning, E-commerce and the other E things on the web.

A quick question, How do you think I should go about the sale?

Should I just list it on domain selling platforms or contact potential buyers (have no idea who a potential buyer is though) and if the later is the case, is there a formal template for sending emails? or shuld I just write naturally as myself?

Thanks..

Ha. Not an offer, but what I would price for faster sale. For outreach, take a look at online tutoring services. There’s many with much longer names, so your domain would be an upgrade.

You guys know that has a hyphen right? Not saying that hyphens don't sell. They do. But rarely at that price

Really nice domain name, on estibot it says 790 dollars.
I am new as well. And I don't know if these estimation websites give the right value.
How can we price a domain name correctly ?

The estimation websites often base values on keywords and past sales, but they are dumb automated tools so in reality can often be wide of the mark. It could be priced based on similar previous sale (check out namebio.com for past sales values) or it could sell for $500-$1000 per the listed domain request I included in the above post. It's worth what someone is prepared to pay, so any estimate is just that unfortunately.

I personally think it is a good name because the names says it all and is easy to remember, but having a hyphen in the name may put some buyers off.

Hello E-thunder, Thanks for your input.

Please, how did you come up with this valuation or is it an offer??

$2,500 the “impulse price” IMO, lots sale $2.5K

Can do better! Listen @Sutruk; lower if no sale

NameWorth puts it at $45k. I haven't done any due diligence or proper valuation yet but gut feel tells me it could go for more with the right sales approach. If you're letting it go for anything like what the earlier posters are suggesting talk to me first please. I'm sure I could raise at least a couple of grand in a hurry.

Covid means home learning. Home tutorship businesses are raking it in and looking for an edge.

The normal rules about hyphens and whatever apply in those markets where it's hard to sell in the first place. In such a vibrant market as this, forget the rules, just look at how valuable it is to an end user.

At Namebio.com there are 14 domains sold beginning with "e-" over $10k.
And the quality of this one would be on the top of them. In my opinion.
Not to mention the rest of hyphenated domains sold. I see 50 hyphenated domains sold at Namebio.com for more than $22k.
I have to say again that I don't like too much and don't have any hyphenated domain, but definitely this one would be a nice exception.
By the way, germans LOVE hyphens, and pay high prices for them.

See....people like castigating

Either domain name is with hyphen or not....domain name with quality keyword will sell even if such name is with hyhen

Many hyphen domain sale high.... Like e-auto.ch was sold on sedo sometimes ago

I my self have some like...
E-soccer.co.uk
E-bet.ch

Just look for proper way of marketing.... You may try
Sedo.com....there are hyphens domain sold on sedo always.

Gud luck!!!!

With a high value domain such as this, for a new domainer needing cash, I'd be looking directly for potential end users and a quick sale for full price. Or an agent with contacts, who could sell it for full price on my behalf.

That's not a sales pitch. I'm new too and my contact list is still very thin.

Would you guys want 100% of $2.5k and that's all because you haven't yet learnt how, or 80% of $50k and an excellent new agency contact?

It is a good domain because distant learning is in high demand right now. But this demand will not be forever it will decline after covid, so if it was me I would price it between $2.5k to $5k for fast sale.

@Ostrados are you expecting Covid to be over any time soon? Had you noticed the time lapse between pandemics is narrowing rapidly?

I've already said I'd buy it within that price range immediately, so the quick sale for a ridiculously low price is already covered.
