Yesterday I register a Very Good .Realty domain in Yay.com for around $3.79, And after few hours I said why not add more years! Because it's an amazing name and also the renewal fees was only $3.80 so I decide to add another 5 years, So the total, I paid for 6 years. Total cost $22.78 , And that the raison why I have choosed Yay and not Epik to register .Realty is because of the renewal cost.

PS: You know that feeling when you grab a great name and you can't even sleep and dreaming about selling the name for 5 figure...But that Dream will never come true because of Yay.com, Read until the end..

Here is the proof of the registration:

Until now is all fine and pointed the domain to Dan NS and all is fine, And I have checked the whois to see if there is any update and the exp date was September 28, 2026.

And by the end of the day, I received an email from Yay support, Asking for verification.
Screen-Shot-2020-09-29-at-7-53-23-PM.png

and this morning I have sent them the requested documents.

But After 2 hours I received another email from them, They said they verifed my account but the domain was deleted by the backend team due to a pricing error, and if I wish to purchase the domain, its will be required to sign up with a new account (With the same account detail and card detail ) and purchase the domain for £261.39+VAT per year of registration.

So I decide to go and register the .Realty domain in Epik for $0.99, But guess what happened, I discovered that the domain is taken by someone else! And now yay.com Blocked my account and they didn't even let me to login so I can remove my credit card from their Database, and I also didn't receive any refund.

This is Scam and so unprofessional from Yay.com, They should give me a notice before deleting the domain So I can register the domain fast in Epik, I believe someone in Yay.com team stole my domain Because when they delete the name its was immediatly registred, While they blocked my account this is a big proof that something suspicious here.

Update will be added in the comment section.

Just FYI, Epik is the only registrar with a promo for .REALTY right now. We have an exclusive until year-end due to the unmatched marketing work that is being done for it. That said, it may be that YAY.com is trying to re-sell, however, for this domain in particular, they don't own the domain they apparently sold. Oops.

When I reg the name and checked the whois Information its was under their name 'Yay NameCamp Limited' but now it's registred in Epik.

I hope Epik decrease the renewal cost for .Realty,
Domain.com have a renewal fee of $10.9 only for .Realty

Domain.com likely has a bug in their pricing schedule as the wholesale price for .REALTY increased to $272 more than 1 year ago. See the notice that was sent to registrars:

I would say .REALTY is great for a flip if you are good at outbound or SEO techniques. Their pricing model is not optimized for long term speculative buy and hold.

On the other hand, there are amazing deals to be had in that TLD. There are other active threads on NP discussing .REALTY so best to discuss it there.

UPDATE1
=============
I have received a refund today, after multiple emails...
And I have asked them for a compensation for the damage caused by yay.com team.

This is There response:

They have ignored the fact that the domain was already showing on my yay dashboard few minutes after I paid for the domain, and I have check the whois and its was registred until sep, 28, 2026, And the name was already resolved and pointed to DAN nameservers. and they already admitted before that the domain was successfully registered by saying that the domain was deleted by their backend team.

UPDATE2

I just Received an Official call from Yay.com support they admite that they made a mistake, and they was very kind, they apology, and I have accept their apology.

Things like this may happen to any registrar due to not updating the pricing in the system, But its will be helpfull if they sent a notice to the client before deleting he's name, so he can grab the name again before someone else do.

They have also offered me a discount/coupon as a way of an apology and gesture of goodwill, This is what called professionalism and good support. the situation now have changed 180% . Thanks to Jez from Yay Support.

Best,
Coolhands

I personally don't think the situation was remedied. They should have let you keep the domain and just eat the $200. It was their mistake, not yours. What if I sold a name somewhere and later changed my mind because I made a pricing mistake?

When I received the call from Jez from Yay.com support he was very embarrassed and he apology to me multiple time and I can really feel him and he admit that yay support should absolutely give me the first opportunity to purchase this domain name again, or pay for the full price before it's deletion.

they must be seeing this thread, so they summon the "magic" coupon. If not maybe they will just tell you to f*ck yourself

Well, if you had a choice between apologizing to someone and losing $200, what would you do? They should have never deleted your domain. At the very very least, they should have reserved the name for you in the cart, in case you wanted it at the higher price but now, the name is mysteriously gone. Who took it? That reminds me of when you look up a name at godaddy and it's suddenly regged 5 mins later.

Also, what would they have done if they hadn't seen the thread?
