Cannuck, you need to elaborate a bit more. Are we talking capitalism or greed? Where did Milton Friedman got it wrong?
My statement on greed being good was obviously sarcastic.

He is wrong... very wrong

No, I live on traditional First Nation land not ceded to the government, but reserved under Treaty.

Of all the land in Canada that were once occupied by First Nations, reserves comprise only 0.2%

what is the domain?:)

I plead the 5th :xf.wink: (it would offend your manly sensitivities)

I have no problem with Capitalism, I have lived in Socialist, Communist and Capitalist societies. I've experienced both poverty and a high level of income. It's the gap in disparity that creates friction, especially when people use their position of power to attain more than what they need, while others can't even get a break.

Greed. In fact, the top one percent alone holds more wealth than the middle class. I'm somewhere in the middle, like most of us. I'm not complaining about that, just when people steal from others due to their addiction to money and power.

No buffalo, moose. :cow: Quasi-apology accepted (y)

And they are fighting for opposing goals. Those in the US want more government and more socialism, while those in Hong Kong want more freedom. Too bad we can't just swap them and send Antifa/BLM to China and bring the Hong Kongers to the US.

I would do the swap.... send all Lefties to Hong Kong ... and bring all the freedom fighters from Hong Kong to the US...

What fight are you talking about? Do you think the bloodbath in Vietnam was for your country?
When duty calls, patriots answer. In all countries i think.

And you buy that narrative. They count on suckers and losers.

If the left had stayed quite... it would be a secret....the left isn't good at keeping secrets

But you want more government as well. You literally said in another post you were ok with the government saying what they could do with YOUR body. You remember my abortion question, when I asked what you were the one having babies. You're also ok with the government taking freedoms away. So you're not some freedom fighter, the opposite.

Trump wouldnt fight for our country as a young man and he never has. Total loser.

Like Biden. Biden also ran away same war.

forgot double standards apply; Biden”asthma”?

the real losers are those who fought in “Nam” Nothing gained War; Lives’ lost for nothing;

While we’re on the topic of losers; ran away..
Forgot dishonorable discharge (Biden’s son)
kicked out for crack coke something in blood?
How about cheating in College; Plagiarism;
Or my favorite; first wife’s death; She couldve been high and or DUI;
I truly believe Biden destroyed case files; to start career on a lie; Biden is not right for us.

what i really want is to fix the problems and issues .... to do that we are going to have to give some to get some.... we are to divided to be able to compromise... you wont even agree to have a national vote on issues... so there is no other way to fix the issues except to get rid of them altogether...if they aren't happening....they are no longer issues IMO

No, I was telling you that's not how things are done, not whether I would be ok with it or not. The Supreme Court decides. Then, if people polled feel one way, their votes would reflect it as well. If 75% of people are ok with gay marriage, if they actually vote, it would reflect that as well.

And no, if your'e ok with the government being able to tell you what you can do with your body, you're not a freedom supporter. You're somebody who wants to take freedom away.

Want to take marriage away.

Want to take abortion away.

Both, none of your business.

that's the only thing i was asking.. a national vote on these issues.. Roe v Wade should be voted on by the entire country as well IMO..... it effects every state in the union so society as whole... i believe us "The People" letting a supreme court ... or any persons in Washington making these decisions on behalf of the people is not in the peoples best interests

Cannuck, this is not meant to sound harsh:)

If you have no problem with capitalism I don't have a problem with voluntary socialism. I don't mind if people organize themselves in communes like Amish or Hutterites as long as people are doing it on voluntary basis.

You are describing some kind of corruption that exists, not sure if you think capitalism is the cause but it seems you think socialism is the answer. It is not, if you pay attention all centers of influence advocate socialism and everything left, from education to economic systems and to more government and judicial interference in our lives. Under socialism all will be equally miserable. Good ideas don't need violence to be implemented. History is full of these examples. Don't forget the Bolshevik revolution in Russia was well funded by the western elites.

There is no problem with the rich or accumulation of capital, unless they gotten the money through corruption which there are plenty of examples. Everyone, when acting on their own will produce different results and that is ok, as long as there is equality of opportunity and upward mobility within society then everything is working like it supposed to.

We have corruption in the world, everything from fractional banking to private Federal Reserve but thinking that you are being independent when you are leaning left and not trying to fix the corruption that exists right now is living in denial.

conservatives, I imagine, just want to live free and independent, we don't have this urge to organize society and control others, that is a big difference. And wanting to control others is some kind of emotional sociopathy and or entitlement at best.

Well, the current laws decided by the Supreme Court actually reflect the majority views right now. Republicans are wanting to go against the majority.

we need the people we vote in and hire in Washington to maintain the country... Not make critical decisions on behalf of every American.... I have always felt this way about that..... If we had a nation wide vote on Roe v Wade ... Gay Marriage and all other things that may effect us directly as a society ... at least a majority would have had a voice on the subject voted on...
