Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

NameSilo
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Yes, I wanted it too but dropcatch doesn’t work for me because they blocked my country apparently. You got a great deal! Best of luck with it.

The owner of virtualcurrency just got a $100k offer. That aside, I wouldn't spend a dime on a VRkeyword domain.

I'd be looking at $500k if it were mine.

6 years after you wrote this, do you think he should have taken the money? Or do you think it's still worth that much with the double meaning related to CBDCs?

I recently sold longtail virtual reality Museum dot-com for 750... yours is not as good as it's reverse but I'm sure it has potential

He did sell way back so my assumption is that it was at or near the offer. Good move imo.

As far as currency goes in today’s world, the keywords Digital and Crypto are where it’s at.

I own one of the best VR keywords in 'video' along with 'games' (in my opinion), the best VR+keyword on the market, i paid 5 figures for this domain, i don't regret it one bit.

Immersive + 360, is another one of my favioutes.

But many other of my domains, i would be happy to break even with, whilst i love virtual tech, still believe it is the future, i would never invest in another domain in VR/AR.

Whilst I have made money in virtual tech, they are extremely difficult to sell, but every single domain I’ve bought outside VR/AR (around 5 or 6) I’ve sold every single one, including one I sold for 6 figures recently (please don’t try to guess what it was), what does that say?

I was checking out the XR thread the other week, that whole term as now dried up, but the thread reminds me of the VR thread of a few years ago, people's hopes and dreams their investments (even average keywords) are going to be worth 6 figures+.

I was going to say something, try to help people not make the same mistakes i and other people have, but I have in the past and you don't get better thought of for it, infact you get a lot of hate for it, so it's best to just let people get on with it and let them learn for themselves.

But whilst I'm on this, people who haven't invested in VR/AR but reading this thread and thinking about it, my advice is don't. There's better more and sure things to invest in, if you can afford it, try to put your money into single word domains, single word .com's are in huge demand, go for a lot of money and only going up in value or industry defining 2 words .com's.

Thanks for your thoughts on VR/AR @Kingslayer

This thread has really caught my attention as the VR industry is currently worth around $18 Billion, which is approx the current Stablecoin Market Cap. Very similar figures.

What I find peculiar is how the two industries (one in exponential growth = Stablecoins) have polar interest on the Forum. What happened to VR and why can’t people see the potential in an industry that is clearly booming. It doesn’t make sense.

VR/AR is an area that I am very interested in as I think there could be an interesting relationship between VR/AR and Digital Assets on Blockchains.

I’ll certainly proceed with caution before investing for sure.

Thanks

If people dont crazy and invest in loads of average VR/AR names, then is the great niche to be in. If people invest in just a few good VR names (say less than 30) they will sell them easily over the next few years and would be gettign regualr offers. People need to pay a bit more and buy a few decent names, not hand-reg names. I dont mean 5 or 6 figure investments, but you can pick up good namaes for low to mid x,xxx

A lot of people thought this was a 5 or ven 10 year wait, it was always going to be longer than that. These tech threads always die a slow death and that has nothing to do with the tech not taking off. Its all to do with people investign in loads of avergae names and then realising they wont sell them, so they stop posting, lose interest and move onto something else. The same thing happened with the old Solar thread, Solar technology certainly hasnt died. Its just about investing smartly and spreading your names across various tech niches like drones, robotics, crypto, holo, VR, AR, AI, etc

VRVideo is a great name and you should do well with it in the next few years. I wish you all the best mate :xf.smile:

those damn Expired auctions always throws the comps askew.

everyone knows or at least they should that expired domains sell higher than owner owned domain auctions.
