Instead of blaming political parties, why don't we blame the society that has become so toxic? It's mind-boggling to me that people would fight over politicians who care about nothing more than fame, power, and wealth. The bigger issue is that our society and our morals are falling apart- and that's the thing that will have the greatest impact on our lives.

So it's great to say we should respect and be kind to each other, people are going to discuss opposing ideas and they should.

Politicians, corrupt media, manipulated social media all work to push divisive narratives for money and power. Mix in our own pride, ego and things get heated.

I think this is the source of our problems. Our own worldview is becoming self-centered and materialistic. That leaves the gap for politicians to sneak in and add fears, scapegoats, lies, and everything else.

People forget that we live in a democracy. Our country is more reflective of our overall lifestyle than our leadership and government. Instead, we tend to argue that the other side did something worse and that preventing them from elected positions will save the country. It's a silly argument in my humble opinion.

"Republican leaders have spent months promoting the myth that red low-tax states are subsidizing blue high-tax states because of the deduction for state and local taxes.

An Associated Press Fact Check finds it’s actually the other way around. High-tax, traditionally Democratic states (blue), subsidize low-tax, traditionally Republican states (red) — in a big way."

https://apnews.com/2f83c72de1bd440d...-Blue-high-tax-states-fund-red-low-tax-states

------
Also, earlier in the thread I posted how Red States rank last/worse in Education. All kinds of stats/studies on that.

First, states that were coded as blue based upon results from the 2004 presidential election were significantly higher in education funding than were states coded as red. Students in blue states scored significantly higher on outcome measures of math and reading in grades four and eight than did students in red states.

https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=red+states+vs+blue+states+education

Average Democrat voter has a higher level of education than the average Republican voter.

Look in this thread.

Who speaks out against fact sites?

Who speaks out against Universities? Thinking they'll take your child and implant liberalism or whatever the latest fear is.

Who thinks it's smart to not wear masks during a pandemic?

The government creates nothing. All taxes are taken from profits. Big business use the tax code to avoid paying taxes. Blue states tax people at higher rates. Republican policies brought unemployment to an all time low, while increasing tax revenues. I think JB should move to California or New York.

As for the average intelligence of democrat or republican voters, I guessing the "analyst" that came up with that whopper ignored all the drug addicts & criminals in every major blue city.

While it might make you feel good about yourself to claim your more educated than the average republican, education isn't a indicator of common sense or ability to think independently and question obviously questionable surveys.

We live in a constitutional republic but I agree 99%. Sort of like arguing about who's the bigger liar.

Not sure how and how useful it is to blame society, although I understand the sentiment. Biggest influence in our lives tends to be public policy still. Demoralization can happen with popular culture, education system, etc. But public policy affects all and there is no escape and what ever you incentivize you will get more of. This is why the do-gooders in public service tend to create the opposite results they claim they are fighting for.

People forget that Americans live in a republic:) It is true that the two party system has been used to manipulate people and give and illusion of choice while policies advanced in the same destructive path. Conservative values have not been represented well by the republicans and there was real consensus about reigning in the spending after the banking bailouts with the tea party. Honest political discourse could or could have been had with voters if politicians tried. But now we have democrats being completely radicalized so far left through all centers of influence in our society. Policies between conservatives and radical leftist have never been more different than now. What is being advocated and put into practice will change the country as a whole.
This is why when a populist candidate appears that breaks with the two parties and appeals to regular conservative policies he gets embraced. And, true colors of the democrats, deepstate, media, higher centers of learning, corporations, big tech, come to light.

Old article, updated on the very same page the authors say:

"In a letter to the editor on June 3, 2020, the authors of this article state “We strongly support the calls of public health agencies for all people to wear masks when circumstances compel them to be within 6 ft of others for sustained periods.”

So you're a certified dumb anti-masker. You pick some random article, not articles from the majority of health officials out there.

That is mr-x's cherry picking routine. Find the outlier article/poll/person.

Just like the protests. 93%+ peaceful, talk about the 7% that aren't. Constantly lie and say most are violent.

Another routine mr-x does is lie. You said paper masks again. Never heard that recommended but you keep posting that. Keep lying.

It's that type of stuff, the anti-mask garbage you post, that leads to people getting sick and dying, hurting our economy. Do you feel any shame at all participating in the spread of misinformation that leads to American's dying?

More dumb posting. You brought in some other issue, drug addiction, what has nothing to do with the topic I posted. Then, the opiod crisis is in a lot of Red States. I actually linked to the results, feel free to read any article on the subject. Red States are at the bottom of education, I linked to that earlier in the thread.

Then you mention common sense and proceed to post dumb anti-mask stuff.

Oh boy, bat shit crazy time. What in the world are you talking about? Link to that.

Are you talking about this from a few weeks ago:

Nearly 40 missing children rescued during Georgia sex trafficking bust

More than three dozen children are now safe after being rescued during a sex trafficking bust involving state and federal agents.

https://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/mo...-trafficking-bust/OHEHJUSWWRBQRHQMBQPGQPORAI/

Q-Anon not mentioned anywhere. Are they some super investigating crime figthers?

I haven't read what you just posted, so hook me up with some links so I can read about it. From what I've read, normal state and federal agents.
