For a select few, a time will come, where you will have to decide how to use your 10,000th nP post.

Will it be just another post?

Or, will it mean something more than that?

Regardless of what's said in the 10,000th post, 10,000 posts to a single forum shows a lot of time, effort, and dedication into building a sustainable internet community.

A sincere Thank You to all who have achieved this milestone through legitimate nP contributions. and a tiny violin / golf clap to those who have made 10,000 posts mainly by camping in the political thread / breakroom.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
for me, when the time comes (3 - 5 years at this rate) it will be just another post.........

No pressure, no fuss, it is just a number........

You say that now. Though, let's see if you still feel the same way 7,394 posts from now. :xf.grin:

I know, it's in writing in now :xf.wink:

But seriously, I don't get the obsession with the post and like counts and celebrating them.....and this is coming from someone with a healthy dose of narcissistic traits.......just seems to be a social acceptance need to me

Anyway - if people want to celebrate it, I'm not going to rain on their parade when they start threads on it.....or post about it

To a degree, I see your point. Some nP milestones are more meaningful than others.

Social acceptance isn't measured by like/post count. Or at least it shouldn't be. In a perfect world, other avenues of ones life would/should fulfill selfs need of social acceptance. So for those with a balanced life, these milestones/metrics are just that, binary data not tied to ones sense of social acceptance.

Celebrating these things is more so highlighting the little things. Not blowing them out of proportion. More so if the other party is accepting, then the goal is to have some fun.

@bmugford could burst the 10,000 post bubble however/whenever he wants. The mic is his. His next post will be forever known as @bmugford 10,000th post. Then it will be on to the next member, and their 10,000th post for a legacy to be cemented.

<instigation> Again no pressure </instigation>

My average post rate of 20.8 PPM will take me roughly another 36 years to reach 10,000...

So that's something to look forward to I guess..

Pretty much the same reasons why people are using Facebook/insta/whatever :)

@bmugford, posting in this thread would marginalize the feat; Make your own thread; would be more fitting 😜

Though @Grilled did effectively put u on clock. i think it would be anticlimactic, if answered Grilleds call to action.

Male post 10,001 your post here; Win Win.
Hahaha. Nothing personal, Grilled. 😜🤣

I'm not personally active on any of them.....

Will change from business perspective soon though...

Oh definitely, from a marketing point of view these platforms are spot on. Easy to get your message out there. LinkedIn is kinda ok and I like twitter as it's a good source for some quick (albeit not the most reliable) info. Not using it personally, just for business.

Everything else is brainwashing imo. Imagine all the social interaction you could have if you didn't waste your time on liking and responding to your next door neighbor's dogs and toddlers photoshoots.

Sorry @Grilled for the derailment. Let me congratulate @bmugford in advance as 10K posts from a pro like him is quite a valuable contribution to this forum.

We also used to have "karma" on forums. Post count and Karma were everything back in the day.
