I have been noticing and I am also guilty of this. But why do people post domains in sections like.

Make Offer
or
Reg of the Day
or
Snap of the day
or
External domain sales section.

And they don't redirect the domain to either their sales lander like Efty or whatever or at the very least your Godaddy, or Sedo or Namejet auction page?

I can almost guarantee 90% of domainers even experts on here will have forgotten to redirect a domain that they just posted on Namepros to some kind of contact page or Marketplace?

is that by design? do you choose to do it like this?

I feel it's a huge missed opportunity.

I've done a test and it really does boost the view count for your domain at Godaddy or Sedo.

If you include the fact that you are probably promoting your domain on not only Namepros but other websites?

It's really just a mistake not to forward the domain to something instead of a default registrar page.

To some like myself this should be basic domainer tactics 101 but I bet and I've seen even some "pros" on here either forgot or purposefully choose not to forward their domains that they've just "promoted" on Namepros.

Are you guilty like me? Let me know in the comments. Thanks.

and please please please do yourself a favor an do forward the domain you just mentioned on Namepros or wherever to SOMETHING that will benefit you.

If you can think of other MISTAKES maybe bigger than this one. Feel free to share in the comments. Thanks.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
If they want to sell it, they will place it for sale, at some marketplace or contact page.
If they just don't want to sell it, or aren't in a hurry to sell it, maybe they will just put it on a default parking page.

Hi

all of my names point to a ppc page
but typically if i post them here, i don't "link" them, as some others do.

imo...

Why ppc page and not a sales lander or a marketplace page? aren't we all here trying to sell domains?

I do not promote here but I do point the names to landers as soon as I get them.

Hi

all ppc pages have link or banner that leads/links to contact page.
so, i do get inquiries and have made some sales from them.

and of course,
we are here to sell, buy and discuss domains, but in mean time i like to get clicks on those names, until an inquiry is made.

for instance,
@ bodis: svc.net received 42 visitors so far this month and got 3 clicks.... earning $8
@ sedo vixm.com received 13 visitors, got 1 click and earned $6.84
@ voodoo etv.org 62 visitors, earned $5.24

that's enough to buy a large pizza and some wings!

;)

imo...

I don't personally post to promote, but for radio test reasons. I dont expect to do end-user sales here, but this forum is great information source. And the needed information is money.

lol wait what? you got 13 visitors and 1 click on Vixm.com and got $6.84? the click? was $6.84? how?

I think I've been missing out on PPC.

never really understood it full and the math behind it and the clicks.

always assumed as far as clicks we were looking at pennies per click. are your numbers accurate? if so? I think I'll have to look into ppc park pages again.

Good job. I mean seriously. It's just sound practice. (that I'm 50-50 following my own advice lol so not here to criticize as I am the worst offender. lol I mean it's ok if I make the mistake as I am fairly new to domaining but the seasoned pros? I just don't get it.)

Hi

the numbers are accurate for sure
but the $6 click for that name was prolly just luck.

some names may only get a few pennies per click, while others may average much higher, depending on keywords of the domain.

still, even @ $0.01 per click, some names can generate $,$$$ in revenue over time, if volume of traffic is high, along with ctr.

also depends on which platform is used and it's wise to rotate names when one goes lame.

for example:
@ parkingcrew last two months 7/1/2020 > 8/31/2020
etv.org got 328 visitors and 21 clicks, earning $3.31
compared to $5 earned this month from 62 visitors @ voodoo

imo....

hmmm I think we need to change the "biggest mistake" to "not parking your domains" lol

with those numbers some of these domains can literally overtime pay for themselves. I've always hesitated parking because I feel it prevents buyers from finding me or I just assume if the buyer comes to me me via a parked page "buy now" link would be the equivalent of an Afternic button on a parked page.

i.e. Parked page provider gets a commission for the eventual sale. (note. I haven't really looked into parking providers. After reading several threads on Namepros I got the feeling that parking money was dead.

plus Google deranks or doesn't bother ranking your domain which is bad? forgive me if I sound stupid. I really haven't looked into parking much.

but your numbers peaked my curiosity now.

Although your examples are for short liquid domains. can you give examples of stats for like longer domains? like two word or three word domains? I don't have much short domains under 4L.

domaining should never eat your "mortgage or rent" money and should really pay for itself.

Lucky for me I sell domains regularly. unfortunately many that have signed NDA's.

But it would give me peace of mind knowing that my domains pay for themselves.

I'll look into these parking sites now. Thanks @biggie

One final thing. Isn't there a domain parking service where you earn not from clicks by just from the park page loading?
