Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Tbh, I find the new "visual images" more appealing than most of the logos presented. Especially on my WLM, giving you can choose an image fitting to your name, it is much better presented than low quality logos.

While you can upload your own logos, it really does not appear to be beneficial. I don't think they've found the perfect solution for this yet, and we will probably see some changes still.

I like them too. But the only option with my Basic Plus is to request a $5 logo. Of course I could remove them and add to my wlm with those cool images but they're searchable from SH marketplace, which I kinda like too.

They added an option for the Cool Images in all type of listings. Perfect!

These images can stand out more than logos in the search.

SH also does retargeting ads for b+ listings with logos now.

SH should be finding ways to increase the value of premium listings, not undermine them.

Thinking of downgrading all my premium listings to b+

Images don't display on Search Results though.

Are you sure? The marketplace search can take some time to update.

I just asked the support. He said it's either the logo or text will show up in search results. I'll try to check later.

The images do show in the search.

With images, B+ listings are effectively better than premiums now. Other things being equal, which name would you choose?

Guess it's time to downgrade all my premium listings... searchable b+ now have better exposure and less SH commission.

B+ listings should have never been searchable in the marketplace to begin with. By asking for $5 to give a b+ domain a logo in the marketplace search, SH shows they're more interested in earning $$ off sellers than in curating a premium marketplace.

SH has been awesome with innovation but sometimes it feels like they don't think through the implications of their rapid implementations.

B+ listings in the marketplace search need to be reconsidered along with the flawed and biased review system. The original justification for "expert" reviews was to speed up review times. That worked for a couple months and now, in addition to the flaws in the system, reviews are as slow as ever.

Love the ability to add the lifestyle images. Added for my 69 premiums and 3 basic plus listings.

I would like the ability to display the lifestyle images only in place of all logos if that option can be added.

My B+ still shows "texts" when I search them in SH marketplace :(

I like the idea of logos with the ability to add related images(just like BB or any e-commerce site). So one can see the logo on business cards and other mockups. To truly vision it in action. IMO

Have the upgrade from basic plus to premium been discontinued?

SH has updated this. Searchable b+ listings no longer have images in the marketplace search.

Much better. The lack of uniformity would have been confusing for buyers.

Guys
I just wanna understand something
So now B+ could be searched for within the premium marketplace?
That’s not good
It’s already fierce competition against 68,000 other domains
If we add B+ that could be 300,000 in no time!

I think that is for searchable B+

Not only are some b+ searchable in the marketplace, if sellers pay $5 for a logo, searchable b+ names are indistinguishable from premium names.

To me, this says SH is more interested in profiting off sellers than in curating a quality premium marketplace.

Hopefully SH will re-think this and remove b+ names from the premium marketplace.

This is the best way to ensure the quality and integrity of the marketplace. The best way to ensure buyers find great names.

Quick question
Do the sell though rates on the SH dashboards inclusive of the Wholesale listings? Coz that would make a very big difference. That’s like double the amount of sales!
thanks 🙏🏽

The Sell Through rates do not include any Wholesale transactions. We only consider end user sales when calculating Sell Through %. Moreover, if any end user sales are cancelled (such as default on installments), those sales are removed from this calculation.

I would like to address a few points related to Basic Plus listings.

Only a small fraction of Basic Plus listings are currently searchable in the Premium section. In order for the listings to be searchable, they have to meet a minimum criteria. Here's an article that explains it further: https://helpdesk.squadhelp.com/en/articles/4001020-basic-plus-searchable-listings

If you add a Visual/ Lifestyle image to a Basic Plus domain, it will be visible in following places:

* Your WLM Marketplace Listings page
* Your Domain Landing Page (both on WLM as well as SH)
* Your Portfolio Page on SH

These lifestyle images will not be visible on the Premium Domain/ Listings page in order to ensure a consistent browsing experience for our buyers.

To me, this says SH is more interested in profiting off sellers than in curating a quality premium marketplace.

If our goal was to "profit off sellers" by offering a $5 Logo Design service, we wouldn't have added a completely free option to allow sellers to create Visual Images instead of Logo Designs. Within the first few days of adding this feature, over 30,000 visual images have been created with this new option.

Regarding the $5 fees, here is how they are handled:

* Payment to Logo Designers from our creative community who design these Logos
* Retargeting Advertising. As a background, the CPC (Cost Per Click) on retargeting ads is above $1 across several online channels where we advertise the domains. SH pays for these click costs whenever your Logo is promoted in a Retargeting Ad.

So if you paid $5 to get a Logo Design for a Basic Plus domain, and it receives even 10 clicks per year (many names receive substantially greater number of clicks), we would have spent well over the $5 we collected for the initial Logo payment just on the advertising cost itself (in addition to the designer payments).

@GrantP I found deleted domain(s) on WLM are still available on marketplace (ghost list) even it's completely removed (no longer available) on Dashboard

Thank you for addressing b+ listings on the premium marketplace, Grant.

You say "only a small fraction of b+ listings are currently searchable...".

I count about 2,500 b+ listings (about 5% of marketplace listings). This number is rapidly increasing.

My concern is that the searchable b+ listings with logos are indistinguishable from premium names on the marketplace.

Yet, premium names don't have to pay for a logo while basic plus listings do.

If premium names don't have to pay for logos, searchable b+ shouldn't have to pay, either. If they're searchable and they have logos, they should either be classified as premium and handled as standard premium names or not allowed on the marketplace at all.

The lack of clear differentiation of searchable b+ names with logos vs. premium names is confusing for sellers and deceptive to buyers.

@GrantP Please look into the following:

1. I submitted a Logo Design request on 10th Jun, 2020 & It has still not been done (Even after some 70 days!)

2. For several of my domains I submitted the request "My Domain was rejected but I feel it is a great fit" some 40 days ago & still no decision has been made about them as they are still in "Pending" status.

Things have really slowed down at SH so can you do something to accelerate the above?

Regards

All my domain reviews and logo redesign requests from May 31 on are pending too. I have noticed domain review time slow down a bit.

On Aug, 6 and 7, I submitted my first batch of 30 names to SH as Premium Listings. All were processed within 2-4 days, with logos made within hours after the commission approval by me.

On Aug, 12, I submitted two more listings + redesign requests for two other logos – only today, I had both listing processed (approved + rejected) and no logo redesigns until now.

Reading the above posts, I have nothing to complain, I guess :xf.grin:

Submissions and reviews are kinda different things.

Most of my names submitted for first time as Premiums got reviewed and accepted within 1-5 days period.

Some of the name that I feel like were incorrectly rejected (like pwpe (.)com and similar ones) and requested for another review by SH team is taking already few weeks without any response, and by reading above comments it may really take months...

Why?
