What sort of questions are you asked when an end-user shows interested in a domain name?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
The discussion will mainly circulate around the price. As most info they want can be found in whois or namebio for recent sales.

Well, for the past several years I have become mostly a BIN seller of domains.

When I used to have communication directly with potential buyers or, questions were forwarded to me that were submitted by a would-be buyer through a sales platform, all kinds of questions come to mind.

Would you be willing to take ____ for the name - was probably the most common question.

Couple times questions along the lines of - " You probably only paid - example Reg Fee - for the name
- so why should I have to pay so much more than that for the name?

A couple times too buyers asked something like - " what right do you have to own that name - you're not a __________ in reference to whatever the name might contain as an occupation - hobby-profession- etc.

Believe I was asked to the effect from a buyer " will you guarantee I'll have more sales if I buy and use this domain name from you ?".

What was your response to the last question?

As I recall something to the effect that the name in question is the exact match of what your site is
( art or animal related ) and that you should benefit from the new type-in traffic an exact match name generates. A domain name can enhance and generate traffic but the site owner ( the name buyer ) must offer people what they want at a fair price with guarantees etc.

Thought of another question I was asked - I was asked if I would donate the domain in question to the inquirer and their alleged organization.

Tricky question, and possibly hunting for a legally binding answer.
