Congratulations on the historic peace treaty in the Middle East, something that few presidents have achieved.

"Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed released a joint statement Thursday, after the three spoke “and agreed to the full normalization of relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.” The statement said that the “diplomatic breakthrough” was at “the request of President Trump,” and that Israel will “suspend declaring sovereignty over areas outlined in the President’s Vision for Peace and focus its efforts now on expanding ties with other countries in the Arab and Muslim world.”

I applaud the initiative... good to see something positive for a change! (y)

It all happened so fast, I would've like to have been privy to the conversation where Trump urged Netanyahu to normalize relations. His negotiation was probably more like an ultimatum. :shifty:

I'm sure there is much more to the story than we will ever know, but a breakthrough is a breakthrough. Any other president and it would be headline news. Some people have become so warped by Trump hatred that they would literally vote in Adolph Hitler to replace him. All sense of perspective has been lost.

Matthew McConaughey grills Dr. Anthony Fauci in Instagram interview on COVID-19

Get Him Tex

Actually, according to the text, the interview seemed rather cordial, as I would expect from The Gentleman.

"People are looking for identity and purpose in a big time of unknown. And man, so many people have become disillusioned with our leadership," McConaughey said. "But also so many people have fervently [clung] to the fringes of the right and left, which causes further divide a lack of unity."

By the end of their discussion, McConaughey seemed heartened by Fauci's suggestion that the nation could pull together again, because it's done it in the past after World War II and 9/11.

"This is equivalent to that, Matthew. We've got to pull together, absolutely," Fauci said.

"That's it. ... We can have our freedom and our party later. Right now, let's pull together."

Famous last words of democracies that slipped into authoritarianism. If people pull together voluntarily, that's fine. But if freedoms are suspended and it becomes an obligation, that's not good. I was surprised that even Fauci expressed hesitance about making a recommendation a requirement.

The insanity in Australia and elsewhere, where citizens are tackled, handcuffed and arrested for not wearing a mask outside (for which there is really no reason) is something from a dystopian police state.

^ That seems rather Draconian, Ausie popo taking things a little too far (n)

Fauci recommends outdoor classes for good reason (y)

“Get as much outdoors as you can. If you look at the superspreader events that have occurred, they’re almost always inside.”

Must be the most hated cop in Australia... and other parts of the world, right now!
