Domain information key emailed by GoDaddy is "invalid"

I received an email from GoDaddy ([email protected]) to verify my contact info as per ICANN requirement.

They included a Domain Information Key in the mail and it was stated "You must sign in to view and update the domain details. Here's your Domain Key in case you're prompted to enter it after signing in....."

If I click the link, I am taken to GD website and I can successfully log in and redirected to a
"Review Contact Information" page where there is a field to enter my domain information key.

Now the problem is, whenever I click the submit button after pasting the key from the email, I get this message "This key is invalid. Please try again.".

Contacted support through chat but got this "We are experiencing higher than normal volume. Hang in there, your estimated wait time is 55 minutes".

I thought I would put it here so that anyone more experienced can put some light on this.

Please note this not a complain as yet, I am more like, you know, troubleshooting.

Other registrars are somehow able to send annual emails without keys or obligatory links to click.

Recent email from tucows/hover:

ICANN, the organization responsible for the stability of the Internet, requires that each domain name registrant be given the opportunity to correct any inaccurate contact data (WHOIS data) associated with a domain name registration. Our records for your domain are as follows:

...

To review and update your WHOIS contact information, please log into our management interface [here]

If all of the information above is accurate, you do not need to take any action.

GoDaddy should use it as a good example. Especially since those "keys" of today are, indeed, not working!

Update

Got an agent after 49 minutes of waiting in the chat window. I understand they had a hectic day today.

We tried to solve the issue for the next 45 minutes with things like forwarding the mail to the agent, visiting the link in incognito mode etc. But nothing worked out.

At that point the agent suggested that they have an alternative which would be to do things manually from their end. This was what he said:
"We'll manually update the domains mentioned on the Email here and make sure that all the information there is updated all correct ".

I agreed and after a while I was replied that "Alright as I can check the status of the domain is on active stage and is all up and running successfully here .".

So, you know, I think my issue is solved as things stand of now. But please note that I have only a handful of names with GD (less than 20) and what have been a solution for me, might not be applicable for people with a bigger portfolio.

I do appreciate the patience and sincerity shown by the agent though.

Thanks for reading and commenting. Please share your updates regarding this issue if you may like. Looks like this is an issue causing problems to multiple individuals.

They must be still working on it. I tried again. No more incorrect code warning, but now the confirmation button has an issue: There was an error processing your request. Please try again. If the error continues contact support at 480-505-8877.
Oh, daddy. No, daddy... Why is everything so complicated?

I clicked the Verify Your Info Now button in the email

Then I clicked the My Contact Info Is Correct button on the site

Get this error - There was an error processing your request. Please try again. If the error continues contact support at 480-505-8877.

Do we even need to do that since the email says:

Inaccurate contact details can result in website downtime or domain cancellation. If your domain contact info is up to date, you're good to go. If not, then you need to correct it.

Wasn't sure if you only needed to do that if updating was needed.

I think there were some reports initially (in 2016 or so?), indicating that, as per GD, the contact info is supposed to be reviewed by registrants and explicitly confirmed. They even put domains "on hold" it was not done. It is unclear whether "you're good to go" 2020 wording can indicate that they changed this policy.
