Yeah, stay away from .sexy and all the other gtlds, focus on extensions that sell when starting out

Spend a few months reading this forum before buying any names. Avoid hand-regging available names, rather buy from existing owners or expiring lists

if you really got the loot, buy a 3L.com if not buy a list of 4L.coms and put them aside and then research the two word combo dot com. good luck. :)

some orgs are better depends on what you are buying, like churches are better looking with the dot org, or any non profits but yea dot com is the best way to start out.

I always get a list of potential end-users before buying a name. This stops you buying names you cant sell.

Always, I use a whole bunch of online resources (Linkedin, Google, Twitter, Bloomberg, Yahoo Finance, Facebook, etc)

I get a long list of potential buyers with their email addresses. Usually the CEO or Business Development Manager of the company. Get a decision maker and not some random email from the website or the WHOIS email, if you do, your email will usually get deleted.
