Hi
I used many parking services for my domain names, but are they more benefical than a Google Form page ? I just switched to this and started to test it.
I see one advantage using parking page like Dan for example:
- User can pay directly from the landing page
- A beautiful layout (Which is it not required if the buyer is willing to buy the domain name)
But the main disadvantage is:
- You will not be able to get the contact infos of the buyer since you will deal directly with the agent
Same thing for Sedo, the advantages are:
- Possibility to pay directly from the landing page
- Monetize your domain name from the traffic
Do you think this kind of monetization is more benefical than gathering contact infos of buyers ? If you find this monetization worth it, why not using your own landing page with google adsense integration ? I think you will get more revenues throught this one... same as dan and other service as well, you will not get email address of your buyer.
So, the main shared advantage using this platforms: Recieve the payments from them since they are trusted and are around here over years.
Why not using both of them to gain all the good thing they offers and in the same time get in touch with the buyer without the need of intermidiare ?
Using Google Form or your own hosted form will give you more control on your sales:
- Get contact email of your buyers with ability to contact them for futur sales
- Purpose more payment methods (Get back to this point shortly)
- Invite them to check your portfolio if they are no more interested on the targetted domain name
- Include your own HTML code on the page (Like Google Adsense to monetize your porfolio)
- Get detailed stats of your traffic by including Google Analytics
- Build a reputation
ect...
So, when you get in touch directly with the buyer, you have the possibility to use any of the escrow services that exists in this space which offers trusts and especially different payment methods:
- DAN: Bank transfer, Paypal, Cryptocurrencies (For crypto it is not yet recommanded)
- EPIK: PayPal, Cryptocurrencies, ALIPAY, Credit Card
- SEDO: Credit/Debit Card, Wire Transfer, PayPal, Alipay
- AFTERNIC: Wire transfer, PayPal, Money order, Credit card
- ect.
So the buyer will be comfortable and can choose any of this payment methods to pay for the domain name.
I noticied also that EPIK show all informations about the buyer (Like email and ip address), their landing page is worth to try also.
Here is an example of a landing page I just made and started to use:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe-PB-gifVqJVjlTOE9LHjpBnbtSTs7TqpCOgnH_pPFOQIncA/viewform
Hope you find this thread useful and let me know your opinion on this.
