I had an outbound inquiry for my domain, he asked me to schedule a call. As it was my first outbound inquiry, I didn't know what his query would be.

When we initiated the call, his first question was "how much traffic does the domain gets?". I was honest and said about 10 visits/day.

But it will help him grow faster, because it's Exact search match, keyword has about 33000 monthly searcher. Advertisers are paying $1.59/click for this keyword...

Suddenly, he said I will think and get back to you and then we disconnected...

What went wrong here? Did you have similar experience?

What should I have done? Should I follow up?

You didn’t do anything wrong. Such is the world of outbound. Just make a buy it now and follow up with him once.

You're right, I should give it a try. Should I reduce the price and make it most reasonable?

Did he ask you for a price? If you feel you quoted too high (which is very often the case in outbound) when you send the follow up say something along the lines of lowest I am willing to go, good for the next 48 hours with a link to the buy it now. I would wait about a week but that’s me. Do not follow up more than once unless he restarts the conversation.

You probably sold the domain (in a sales pov) not in the best way :xf.cry:

Sounds like he wants a domain with pre-existing traffic, or at least wants to value it according to traffic.

No.

People buy domain names for different reasons.

Some want existing traffic and backlinks and PR, while others buy for the name.

No, he didn't ask for the price, I think was not much concerned about the price. He was more about the traffic...

Yeah, I think he is looking for the traffic domain, but it's a brand-able .com with some value, he might be interested for buying at a lower price. That way I will have my first outbound flip, lol...

I disagree.
He could be a 'tyre kicker' just trying to find how low you will go.
Move on and find another buyer, or just sit on it.

Yes, you might be right, but will at-least shoot an email and see what he says...

Wait for him to contact you, and in the meantime, keep doing what you are doing.

Ok, I'll try that!

If you contact him with a lower offer, he may get the impression that you are desperate to sell.
I'm just suggesting that you sit tight for a bit. You might get a better offer in the meantime.

Update: I finally Emailed him, he said “Sorry, not interested”.

After 5 minutes I received another Email from him describing his business and the keywords(domain should generate traffic) he is looking for which I don’t think is easy to find, should I work on that ?
