Joe here from New Jersey.

Been taking in lots of info here over the last week or so. I just registered and have learned a lot of the basics so far.

Looking forward to learning lots more and contributing where I can.

Thanks!

Hello @jjngjr .. and welcome to NamePros! :)

Taking in lots of info is the best thing you can do at the start, as there are plenty of potential pitfalls for new domainers when they start.

One extra suggestion though .. make sure your domains have more vowels than your username! ;)
Vana White is your friend! lol

Best of luck to you going forward! :)

Hahahaha, I hear you on that one about the vowels! It all started when all the Joe names were taken, Joe1, Joe2, etc. I gave up!

Thanks for the welcome!

Well you didn't try all that hard ... seems Joe3 is available! lol

But seriously though .. eventually you will hopefully be using NamePros as a business tool .. as such you'll want a more usable / memorable username for people to remember you better (there is also a trust factor as well .. much like in actual domain names).

Anyhow .. don't worry about it too much .. eventually you're allowed to change usernames! :)

That makes sense, business wise. Being pronounced Ginger isn't very professional. I should have mentioned that all the Joe names I mentioned were taken years ago when signing up for my first email account, and not here. Thanks for the early wake up!

Thanks for the warm welcomes. I was just poking around the forum and can't believe how many categories and sub-forums there are. There's a lot of regular contributors and a lot to take in here! Good stuff!

I might as well ask my first domaining question here.

I hand regged a bunch of names over the last week or two. I don't have any plans as of now to make purchases through other methods until getting my feet wet a bit.

Concerning keyword domains, I picked up kidsjeeps .com and it doesn't look like it was ever registered before (which is probably not a great sign) but in the Goog Planner it shows the broad term searches of 10k-100k with high competition and on the serps, there are no advertisers.

Would my thinking that this would be of interest to an affiliate marketer or someone similar correct?

Some names like kidsshoes kidsglasses and kidsbedding .coms with similar searches, sold for 4 and 5 figures and I would say kids electronic jeeps and the sorts would bring higher value in terms of product sales.

Am I on the right track with my thinking?

And if this should move out somewhere else in the forum, please advise, Thanks
