Major Update: Sav's Marketplace is now live!

Within the Marketplace, users can now list domains for sale & auction with a low 4% commission and take advantage of our highly optimized sale landers. We have also fully integrated with both Afternic and Sedo Fast Transfer/MLS. Sedo can be used right away and Afternic is just pending their final stages of approval.

Access is currently limited to smaller number of users but feel free to send us a DM with after you apply for faster access.

I want to give you my prediction. 4% is too high. Make it 1% before someone else does and you will gain marketshare. Make the buyer pay by wire transfer or bear credit card processing fees.

Hey Nick,

1) What is the reason for a120 day lockdown on domain names there at SAV.com?

20200804_123002.jpg

2) I've been trying to get a dot org domain name out of there after purchasing it thru your marketplace and it is past the 60 day ICANN lock but yet it is still on lockdown w/an additional 60 day SAV imposed domain name lock. This is 120 day total lockdown. You are telling me I have to send in a copy of my Government ID and a copy of my credit card used there in order to possibly get that 120 day lock deleted. This makes my domain name almost worthless for an entire 4 months unless I want to send you all of my valuable, personal info. I've never heard anything like this at any Domain Registrar before. This seems beyond ridiculous to hold a domain name hostage for 1/3 of the year. Is there a way to undo your 120 day lockdown without sending a copy of Government ID and a copy of our Credit Card?

3) For those of us who use DAN/Undeveloped as an additional marketplace to sell our domain names we cannot add them in DAN because they don't allow SAV domain names to be listed there in their marketplace. Is there any potential of you guys rectifying whatever issues w/DAN so we can have one more marketplace to list our domains?

Thanks

Hey Vito and thanks for your questions!

1 & 2 - We currently place a 120-day lock on domains sold through our Marketplace by a private seller. This is done so that the domain can be returned to the seller if a chargeback were to come in. However, based on the feedback we have received from NP and other sources, we are going to reduce that lock time to only 60 days. If there is another lock on the domain such as an ICANN transfer in lock, these locks will run in parallel. All new and existing locks will be modified by end of today. Thanks again to the NP community for helping us make a better Sav and keep the suggestion coming!

3 - We admire DAN as a valued domain investor service company. As a truly open ecosystem, we have no limitations on any of our customers using DAN in any way.

When will you add bulk edit tools for our domains?

How does it work if I sell a domain from another registrar ?
Is there an api for adding/modifiing/deleting domains ?
Do you pay each time a domain is sold or is there a threshold ?

We have multiple developers working on building an amazing set of bulk tools as we speak. Whether you want to change nameservers on 10,000 domains or bulk update auto renewal on your entire portfolio, Sav will be able to handle it with ease. We don't have an exact launch date at this point, but it will be later this year.

It just need to be transferred into Sav upon sale, at the buyers expense.

Yep. You can add/edit/delete Buy Now listings all via API. The docs are in the API Docs link in the footer.

Sellers can request a payout anytime they want. New sellers have a 5 day hold placed on funds from new sales but can apply to have that lifted after they are established on the platform and have reached a set sales volume.

You can learn all about the Marketplace here: https://www.sav.com/domains/sell

And for domains locked ICAAN locked (previous registrar change made less than 60 days before)

Domains transferred into Sav will have a 60 day ICANN transfer lock on them.

My question is for domains I catched today using snapnames for example, I cannot transfer it to sav as it's icaan locked during 60 days.

Isn't better to push small updates out to have something working? it's really time consuming at the moment if we want to edit multiple domains

Bulk changes does require an entire redesign of our domain manager to work effectively so that, and all the bulk tools, will be launched at the same time.

In the mean time, we do offer an API to automate most tasks and can handle bulk NS changes using an internal tool we have. Just submit a support ticket with the NS changes to make and we can handle that for you.

Hi SAV Team, I have emailed support twice about 2-3 months ago but didn't receive a reply.

@davidc1 - Domains that have a lock on them before they can be transferred can still be listed on Sav, but we may ask you to update the domain's WHOIS and NS while we wait for the lock to be lifted. DM me your email address and Ill be sure you get access enabled for your Sav account.

@rajdomains - I apologize about that. Can you DM me the ticket numbers and I would be happy to take the tickets?

I wonder how it's possible for a domain to be 69 days old and being in 'pending delete' stage and in auction at Sav? It should not be expired, to be in pending delete stage? Who will register a premium domain and than delete it, just to be auctioned?

"Photo of Government ID" - are you for real? I'm buying and selling as a company, what do you need my ID for? And sent through google docs of all things... Dropcatch didn't get it and you won't get it, forget about it.

@boker - I would be happy to take a look at that. What domain are you referring to?

@Samer - We do support sellers to cash out from the Marketplace using PayPal. We are working though how to do purchases with native PayPal transactions as we speak! In the mean time you can easily use your PayPal funds on Sav using the PayPal Debit Card which is free and easy to get.

@pb - We do verify the the identity of our sellers in the Marketplace to help mitigate fraud. Ensuring the smoothest transaction for both buyers and sellers is our highest priority and verifying sellers is a big contributor to that.

Typically domains caught via backorder show up a few hours later but can take up to a day. If you want to reach out to [email protected] with the domain names, we would be happy to take a look.

Ah I see. The last time it was pretty fast. It's been almost 21 hours since being caught. Good news is they have arrived :)
