Usually the tendency of a Enduser or a Startup is to register a Domain with other Extension if .Com is unavailable. In this case does it reduces the chances of a Com domain holder to sell it for the same business.

I don't understand what you wanna know here, Let me explain, I am a business with a name "xxxxxx" and the .com is not available so I go and buy .net or .co or .org. The owner of the .com can sell the domain to anyone he wishes there is no link.
