I can see a number of these getting picked up - there a few others I'm surprised they accepted the high reserve and can't see selling because of it. What do you think?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
So MyID is on its own planet, and managed to snag... the TOP 5 picks this week, and 6 of the top 7.

When they're on, they're on and it's not even fair to everyone else.

Kind of makes you wonder how they can be so dominate. I find it amazing how their site in general seems so outdated yet their TBR system is one of/the best.

Damn, I got stuck in a cell dead zone between Tofino and Port Alberni... lost all the auctions I was in, Aura, Peridot and Surfboards. Anyone know where they all finished?? Probably just one bid beyond my last bids.... Ugh.

You can see where they spend their TBR money, right?

The registrar side is just to hold their TBR domains (possibly forever...?) so they obviously don't feel the need to ever do work on it since the 90's.

I'm also interested in where Aura and Peridot finished up on MyID, if anyone has that data.

Wouldn't it be nice if the registrars were required to:
-report their auction sales
-identify bidders

Enjoy your long weekend! I'm working ;(

eh, no, not at all about reporting sales... TBR sales are almost exclusively wholesale pricing and would skew any domain valuation data significantly downward (there would be a flood of low end sales reports compared to the number of end-user sales reports). It would also document your purchase price, which could then be used against you in a future negotiation. Both of those situations can help set a negative mindset for a buyer in a negotiation. I prefer to be in control of the information regarding my domain purchases and sales, on an individual domain name basis.

As for identifying bidders, yes, that part should be mandated by CIRA for transparency. Since we cannot choose which TBR dropcatchers to do business with for any given deleting domain name (we are basically forced to use them all), then CIRA should absolutely enforce some rules on transparency as to how those domains are sold.

Picked up deadlift last week .. kinda thinking of branding that for gym apparel.

Namebio now makes it easier to report your sales: https://namebio.com/report

You previously had to email them to report sales but they now have a page on their site dedicated to it.

I would encourage anyone who makes a 4-figure USD sale to report it. I say 4-figures because we don't want to see a bunch of small sales showing, as that data doesn't really help us and may lead buyers to believe they can get domains for the same price (i.e. cheap).

I see that Aura.ca is listed for sale at a cool $75,000 USD, so now I'd really like to know what it went for on MyID.

So I just loaded this week's TBR list to Excel and I found it amusing that sitting right at the bottom in row 7324 we have:

RemoteControl.ca

At 13 letters it's a little lengthy for me as a .CA (and I probably would have missed it otherwise), but nicely aged (2005) and seemingly in business use. Opinions?

Another interesting note was that in last week's TBR run, MyID hit two consecutive bulls-eyes by grabbing Aura.ca and KPO.ca at exactly 19:00:00.000. Didn't notice that before.

My last bid was $2950-ish - that's when I lost my cell signal unexpectedly soon as I was just leaving Tofino... So it would have sold for $3K+. It still sucks losing that.

Regarding sales, if anyone is ever selling a nice domain, and not thrilled with the price but are considering a sale anyways, feel free to message me or email me directly and run it by me. I'll always be happy to see if I can beat the price - even if you then get a better price from the buyer, I'm cool with that. I just hate not being given the chance when I see a good domain sold cheap!

Daughter lives in Tofino and cell service certainly can be inconsistent. Tough loss Rob

Well it looks like Influencer.ca is the big dog this week, followed by TBB.ca and TUS.ca, and as there are really only about 5 domains I'm interested in buying in this extremely weak week, I expect MyID to pitch another shutout and crap-can me.

Don't you just hate it when you put a high TBR bid on something that turns out not be as good as you initially thought.... and you just know you're gonna win it.

Now we have Fritz.ca and Nisha.ca coming up the outside, followed by Opening.ca, Frais.ca, and Intentional.ca. I call these front-runner TBR picks (along with Influencer, TBB, and TUS) The Untouchables, as MyID and Siber will probably have them all scooped up in the first 10-15 picks and most of us peons can just watch.

My pick for first is still Influencer, but Fritz is really making a name for himself.

And the top bid today at NamesPro is $265, followed by $205 and $160. Anyone care to put a name to those numbers?

Impressive, it is hard to get "weak week" together in a sentence. :)

That happened to me a few weeks ago....

$1200 later!

Thank God mine isn't that high, but it's like waiting for the sword to drop... and you know it's gonna drop right on your head.

Well I’m sure I will be able to sell it at some point. Touching up my outbound skills. :)

Damn, when does this CERB money run out so I can actually win a TBR domain or two?
