domains The Future Of Green Transport - Escooter Domain Showcase

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
From time to time I invest in a new trend, having bought a couple of domains myself I can see a big future in the Escooter field.

Before buying the domains I purchased an E-scooter myself ( ninebot ES2 Segway ) and I can honestly say these things are so much fun and are great as a green form of transport too.

Some cities and town's are doing trials on hiring them, the UK are on the way to fully legalising them too.

Some people have started developing their own e-scooters and websites, here are a few -

https://escootersmarket.com
https://www.scooterhub.co.uk
http://www.escootershop.de
https://theescooterco.com
https://e-scooter.mk
https://www.escooterdivision.com
https://www.escooter.net.au
https://www.my-escooter.com

etc etc......

Anyone buying in this field?

I spent about 10 years developing electric bikes before they became a thing, even moved to China to produce prototypes (cheaper parts). Mine are of the type which can be folded for air transport and used all season - tested them in the Canadian Arctic on the tundra in -50*C. Solar powered heaters keep hands and batteries warm, studded tires and convertible ski/tracks convert to snow bikes, capable of navigating the most difficult terrain, produced carbon fiber frame is nearly indestructible. Li-on batteries could be better though, I used to manufacture in the 90's prior to their wide acceptance - still waiting for the next gen batteries.

I used to have several e-scooter domains (which were popular), but I subsequently dropped them and have kept my favourite: KlondikeBike .com

It's become a very competitive market and I've since moved on to other projects, having decided it was easier to just buy an off-the-shelf ski-doo, lol :xf.cool:

New report today by CNN

E-scooter market worth "$300-$500 billion in 10 years"

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cn...f-micromobility-e-scooter-spc-intl/index.html

I suspect China will capitalize on the trend and gain a large percentage of the market share. Afterall, they have advanced the e-technology and their people apply it largely already. Having been through China's largest cycle markets it is apparent they also have the manpower, infrastructure and ability to produce at a capacity that cannot be matched anywhere else. I've owned several e-bikes over the past two decades and developed my own personal mode of conveyance suited to my geography, but definitely could not compete in a mass urban market. If anything, I might be able to produce lighweight (carbon-fibre) components for the aftermarket, just as I have for sportscars and racing.

Nice to read mate :)

I have an account at linkedin and had my domain (E-Scooters) in king under my name and you wouldn't believe the amount of people I had contact me from China thinking I sell E-Scooters, I had to explain time after time that I just own the domain and don't sell them....lol, they have factories and factories in China, mass producing at present!

They certainly do, it's massive, actually beyond comprehension from a Western perspective. I've toured some of those facilities, and had thoughts of importing at one time. It's no longer my passion, but a passing interest, so I moved on. There may be a buyer for premium domains, but small brick & mortar vs big box stores (ie. Walmart/Amazon) cannot hope to compete with wholesale prices and exporters set minimum numbers per lot. One only has to look on Alibaba to get the full picture.

The aftermarket, gloves, add-ons, wheels, carry bags (for the Tube) and safety equipment etc., which might be niche worth looking into once they settle on the legalities.

That is beautiful! I hope it will soon become legal to just buy one instead of rent on.
