To Mask or not To Mask... is there even a question?

Do you wear a mask in public?

Hello Mods and Mems,

Well here we have it. Mandatory mask wearing in public.
Now most of you that know me understand that I am not the kind of guy that welcomes new laws...
infringement on personal freedom... that kind of stuff.
However, their are some laws that have been passed in my lifetime I believe are just plain common sense.

Car seats for kids.
Seat belts.
No riding in the back of pickup trucks.
No smoking in public places.
Stuff like this saves lives.

Wearing a mask in public is not so much for your own protection, but for the protection of those around you.
This is not my opinion. According to the medical professionals, this is a fact.

Lets hear from you.
Without turning this into a political pissing match, those of you who believe against wearing masks in public, please justify your position.

Please keep it civil... no personal attacks.

Thank you.

Peace,
Kenny

Dude, explain the logic how less cases of the virus would mean less deaths. It seems like you are just a contrarian, no matter how ridiculous the position is to defend.

Are we talking about the Alien DNA, Witches and Demons doctor Trump promoted here?

Brad

Some positive tests are coming from antibody testing, meaning that who was tested already has developed antibodies.

And again, it's old news, but the testing has been inaccurate since day one.

How many people do you personally know that have died from Covid? 0, 1 ?

Perhaps those are the stats you see on CNN, NBC, CBS & Fox News along with all of the fear mongering imagery.

Fear, pharma sales, mind control . . . That is their script and has been ever since Project Mockingbird started.

Alright, so every statistic that you don't believe is invalid.

Argument from Incredulity. (also known as: argument from personal astonishment, argument from personal incredulity, personal incredulity) Description: Concluding that because you can't or refuse to believe something, it must not be true, improbable, or the argument must be flawed.

Believing is different than knowing.

It's not just the number of fatalities that should concern us,

The truth is those millions of people who have come down with Covid 19 may never fully recover and might have permanent and life long adverse effects even after they are declared to be over the virus.

The way this pandemic is being handled around the World by the elites who want to downplay its effects is really a crime against humanity.

IMO

Exactly. The "recovery" often seems to include issues with lungs, heart, and from a report earlier today possibly hearing. There are many people still struggling months after first getting this virus.

I mean again this is anecdotal, not empirical.

I don't know anyone who died of a car accident or lung cancer last year. Does that mean people didn't die of a car accident or lung cancer?

It is very silly logic.

Also, most of the friends and family I know are taking the safety protocols very seriously, and not risking a potential death sentence to avoid the most minor inconvenience.

Seems quite logical to me - that if we are facing a truly awful pandemic, we would all know AT LEAST ONE who died - even if they were 88 years old with three comorbidities. :xf.confused:
Even two or three degrees of separation away from our network...heard of anyone dying with the rona label?

From my network, the only one I have heard of dying with a covid label is four degrees of separation away and he was immunocompromised with HIV for decades and also old.

There is still so much that the doctors don't know about the long term effects of Covid 19, I predict that this pandemic and the way it has been handled around the World by the elites is going to turn into one of darkest chapters in history.

This is also why I have low hopes for an effective vaccine. There is so much that is not well understood at the moment. Having antibodies is no guarantee against getting the virus. There have been multiple studies that seem to report the antibodies fade quickly as well.

Because of the expedited timeline, it is very hard to properly vet any potential longer term side effects.

There is basically a political reason to rush a vaccine out also. Polls I have seen show around 20-30% of people would be willing to get a vaccine when available. This will not change much.

I think they are better off going down a path of releasing a quality, effective vaccine than whatever just to do it faster. If something is released that causes issues, that will do far more damage to humanity long term giving credence to the Anti-Vaxx nonsense.

Out of curiosity, do you have any medical background?

Yes, I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night.

If you want to go down that path the vast majority of people with medical experience think masks help.
The vast majority of scientists think climate change is real.

So just having some "expert" credentials with an alternate view means very little.

Trump was pushing some doctor that believes in Alien DNA, witches and demons and all this other ridiculous bullshit. Just being a "doctor" only means so much.

I agree provided that everyone abides by the precautionary protocols that we now know are effective in preventing the spread of the virus (which includes wearing a mask) so that we can have more time to come up with an effective and safe vaccine.

Trump is an actor, why give him your energy?

Indeed, the climate always changes.

Change is the only constant ;)

I would have less of an issue with these freedumb warriors if their social Darwinism only effected themselves. Instead, their misinformation and inability to follow reasonable safety protocols is actually going to get others killed.

No reason to not hope for an effective vaccine. This article is worth a reading:

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/31/opinion/coronavirus-antibodies-immunity.html

Scared That Covid-19 Immunity Won’t Last? Don’t Be

Dropping antibody counts aren’t a sign that our immune system is failing against the coronavirus, nor an omen that we can’t develop a viable vaccine.

That antibodies decrease once an infection recedes isn’t a sign that they are failing: It’s a normal step in the usual course of an immune response.

A vaccine works by mimicking a natural infection, generating memory T and B cells that can then provide long-lasting protection in the people who are vaccinated.

Interesting read.

I am more worried about a timeline so expedited it would be impossible to study any potential longer term issues.

The problem though really is despite all that, if only 20-30% of people actually get the vaccine, it will really have limited effectiveness.

Logic and common sense tells us that we should do everything in our power to bring this pandemic under control by doing whatever it takes to prevent the spread of the virus (including wearing masks).

Those who say otherwise obviously have some kind of agenda that only serves their own interest.

https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2...-world/scientists-health-effects-coronavirus/

The virus affects and expands through the vascular system, potentially reaching every organ of the body.

“We thought this was only a respiratory virus. Turns out, it goes after the pancreas. It goes after the heart. It goes after the liver, the brain, the kidney and other organs. We didn’t appreciate that in the beginning,”

"In addition to respiratory distress, patients with COVID-19 can experience blood clotting disorders that can lead to strokes and extreme inflammation that attacks multiple organ systems."

A very high amount of recovered covid-19 people have very hard side effects that may remain during a long time or even lifetime.
Paralysis, brain and heart diseases, strokes and clots all around the body...

Covid-19 is VERY SERIOUS, and the most worrying is that a lot of people still don't seem to realize it. I think the media should take more attention to these recovered people, showing the fatal side effects of this virus, and helping to raise awareness of the importance of wearing face masks and social distancing. It seems that if some people don't see the side effects and consequences of this virus, they tend to think that the virus is just another flu... and it isn't.

There are many laboratories with different vaccine approaches, and the science nowadays is very advanced, also on the genetic field.
I have confidence on the new vaccines, although as you say, unfortunately at first they won't be available for everybody... Hopefully they will prioritize and give them to the more affected people, the medical professionals and the elderly.

Again, this is a super good article that it's worth a reading for anyone interested about how virus, vaccines and the immune system work:

Rising cases means little.

Wholeness,
Chad

Rising ignorance means more death, more sickness, more pain, more closures, more disruptions, more layoffs, more financial difficulties, more bankruptcies, more separation, more division, more lies, more hate.........

Are these vaccines going to be provided free of charge to the low income people, or are these companies going to be allowed to charge astronomically high prices like they do for other life saving medicines since everyone is going to be at their mercy.

Oh I imagine they won't be expensive. The eugenicists like to cull the herd with free/cheap gimmicks to reduce population while creating more lifelong customers for big pharma.

Divide and conquer is no bueno.

See what Dr. Kelly Victory has to say about that in the post a few back, I dare you to actually watch it!

This year - Still far more deaths from alcohol than from CV19 labels. (1.43 million to date)
This year - Still more deaths from auto accidents than from CV19 labels. (790k)
This year - Still more deaths from HIV than from CV19 labels. (983k)
and look only $305 million spent on obesity related diseases in the USA! Today alone!

Perhaps our neighbors in Zhongguo (population 1.4 billion) know more than Western doctors?
:xf.eek:

After all, their covid death count is <5000 after 8 months!

That's right! Herbal formulas were required after the efficacy was obvious! (y)

And Yu Ping Feng San certainly helped the most vulnerable prevent catastrophe. :xf.smile:

No replies to this one NPers?

How could a nation of 1.4 billion people eek out of this with under 5000 deaths? (y)

Magic?
Herbal Formulas?
Acupuncture?
Taiji?
All of the above?
