There is huge potential but do a search on namebio.com for .in sales to give a better idea of current reality.

.in domain has huge potential if you are buying them for reselling or developing. Buy domains with keywords related to India and its businesses or geography, or local/tourism places, etc. I've few .in domain having keywords like: City+Tourism.in and Best+City+Hotels.in type of domains that are fully developed (10-15 pages) and get low traffic like 100-200 unique visitors a day and I've put adsense on it.

Hello @Sandeep123000 welcome to NP.

There is huge potential in the .in extension. There are some ebooks which you can read with a kindle unlimited subscription. One of them "Sell Domains Fast: A Step-by-Step guide to help you make more money by Aishwin Vikhona" talks about the disappointing take up of .in names so far (but the book is old 2014) and another (sorry the name won't come to me but it is written by an Indian author) talks about the great potential.

However as mentioned earlier in the thread namebio will show you what is selling, and perhaps equally importantly what has re-sold = i.e. sold more than once. (Namebio is not a complete record, but a large sample of sales on major marketplaces. As far as I know there will never be a complete record due to all the private sales that go unreported).

So you need to do your own research and know what kind of investor you are, what percentage of purchases would be for shorter term trades, what are longer term holds and what are pure speculative buys.

Best of luck - I'd love to hear about your insights into this developing market as I am interested myself.

I think the .in extension has immense potential not because of huge population of the country where more than 75% businesses specially MSME and small shops are still not connected but also because of very unique features .in bring which are very contemporary and fashionable in today's world.

The .in other than India or India centric activities could also be used for words related with input / output, intel, internet, inclusive and of course International to name a few.

The .in extension demand is currently rising and ongoing lockdown and social distancing norms will only increase it further. In my personal opinion in next 5 years it will most demanded CC domain extension. Thank you

Sandeep, you're welcome. This forum is the best website to improve your domain name understanding and knowledge. Spend a few months reading up here before spending too much money. For starters, read the links in this thread: https://www.namepros.com/threads/popular-beginner-resources.844937/

Hello easywebdomains.net, Thanks for sharing some book reference with me I will look forward to reading these books However I have also similar thoughts about (.in) domain because India is a really growing country and currently 600 million internet users in this country internet users also increasing growth double-digit of every year.

Thanks so much!

I am not currently vested in any .in domain names or, any ext. other than .com, except for a few long held .net and .org domains.

If I decided to invest in another extension, .in is high on my list for the well rationalized reasons given in previous posts.

Exactly. I've had my eye on India for a variety of investments since 2008. What I am keen to know, is whether the growth is gaining pace from a traded domain names point of view. This was the expectation of one of the books I mentioned. It's going to happen / is happening now, but there have been a few false dawns in the past.

I got burned with an Indian Power producer for example (on the stock market), so the point I am trying to make is managing your expectations as to a trade-able entity vs a speculative one. Both have value of course, and both depend on your risk appetite.

I am treading cautiously in my first year of domaining so concentrating on .com, but .in, .io and possibly .ai have caught my eye for further research.

NB. You could check the growth of .in on hosterstats as well as namepros. This is where I am spending time on this matter right now.

Hello GreatBrand.in, Thanks for sharing some more uses about .in extension. I also agree with your thoughts because of the large population of India has huge potential in the internet world. I can also notice that "GreatBrand.in" containing .in extension. I do not have much ideas about (.CC) domain extension but will look forward and do some research about that.

Thanks for sharing some tips and knowledge !!
