strange, no info on wayback machine for that name, and only one backlink to the site is

http://www.cnmag.ca/choosing-a-place-to-rent/

this is the article.
"
Where to look for a rental apartment
Once you know what you want, it’s time to start searching for a place. At this point you need to pick some areas you are interested in, and literally walk up and down each street looking for “for rent” signs on apartment buildings and houses. You can find information in advance in websites, newspapers, classified ads, rent magazines or community newspapers. Some useful websites are www.viewit.ca, www.capreit.ca, www.expatriates.com."

they paid high for it because they really wanted it, they were spending somebody else's money and they are lousy at negotiating. way too much for an acronym. that's what you would expect to get for a high end dictionary word. if i remember correct i think that's what triangle.ca went for.

Damn, check out the 3-letter .CAs dropping this week that were selected high on the TBR a year ago through MyID, held for a year, then immediately dropped.

That is NOT how you make money in this biz.

Could be another Newbie who thought he could make a fast buck.

Speaking of MyId, anyone know how to change their DNS there? Looking to add some names to GoDaddy auctions. I figured I would get a faster response here than there! :xf.grin:

i was wondering what became of oo0, i dropped that months ago, along with 0oo and o0o. both of which were snapped up. more examples of names only becoming desirable when they hit the TBR. we'll see.

So it's a better week than the last few junkers, and with at least some nice LLLs to keep the punks at MyID occupied, but still none of the "wham" premiums you like to see on a list.

VSI.ca is my pick to go first overall.

All I know is that a White Rose by any other name would smell as sweet. No idea why a prominent forum member dropped that one...

And we're off!

And amazingly, mtlblog.ca hit a bullseye and was selected first before a pile of LLLs:

1 mtlblog.ca MyID
2 tnk.ca MyID
3 jdo.ca MyID
4 vsi.ca MyID
5 fkc.ca Sibername
6 turkeypoint.ca Sibername
7 blanktshirts.ca MyID
8 alldeals.ca FastWebServer
9 pby.ca MyID
10 gents.ca MyID

That was a mistake. Got lazy and missed it doing renewals I guess. I tried to get it back at minimum bid level but no luck. Not too big of a deal. It never had a single inquiry anyways. I had a $4K + HST sale today, so that more than offset the sting of losing it. :)

Congrats! Was it a dotca?

In other news, did you guys hear that George Kirikos recently discovered the sale of Gold.ca from 2008?
Even though it was 12 years ago, that was still a great price for the buyer. I don’t think there is anyone here that would sell it for that cheap now.

It’s strange because I used the same link either yesterday or the day before without any issue. And days/months before that with no problem.

After what happened with Twitter recently, I did get a bit paranoid! :xf.grin:

Same here, as I'm using a different laptop sometimes (with old bookmarks) but the old link seems to stop working every so often.

I had it happen to me this morning, after it working for weeks, and I didn't even realize I hadn't updated the link on that particular laptop.

Wow, this place is Activity Central lately...

No idea what goes first, maybe JOL.ca, DDW.ca, Fiore.ca.. Yurts.ca?

I'll go out on a limb and pick JOL.ca, as I know how much the LLL reprobates on MyID love those.

I dropped Fiore.ca...no interest in it whatsoever

LOL, I went for it this week, not hard, but min bid at a few places. It turns out MyID got it, and it went high, maybe top 5.

In terms of my results, I won 10 of 16, and most of the ones I wanted came through. 2 are in auction, but 10 outright is pretty good, but then again, it could just mean I have horrible taste and no clue on domain valuation... :xf.frown:

I believe this is the 3rd week in a row where I have went for nothing! The TBR’s in July hasn’t been the greatest.

I got one real nice name today that fell through the cracks, and quite a few of the "very good" category, as well as one any fan of Road House/Point Break (or Ghost, or Dirty Dancing, or...) would love and that I couldn't resist picking up.
