To Mask or not To Mask... is there even a question?

Do you wear a mask in public?

Hello Mods and Mems,

Well here we have it. Mandatory mask wearing in public.
Now most of you that know me understand that I am not the kind of guy that welcomes new laws...
infringement on personal freedom... that kind of stuff.
However, their are some laws that have been passed in my lifetime I believe are just plain common sense.

Car seats for kids.
Seat belts.
No riding in the back of pickup trucks.
No smoking in public places.
Stuff like this saves lives.

Wearing a mask in public is not so much for your own protection, but for the protection of those around you.
This is not my opinion. According to the medical professionals, this is a fact.

Lets hear from you.
Without turning this into a political pissing match, those of you who believe against wearing masks in public, please justify your position.

Please keep it civil... no personal attacks.

Thank you.

Peace,
Kenny

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
This shows that indeed, the whole world is not going along with the wag-the-dog psy-op.
Could you expand on this? Not sure if you're saying the disease is fake, the global reaction is wrong, or the media are giving out false information.

It amazes me, the lengths that people will go to in the name of this vague idea of freedom. It seems small to me, and small-minded. Just another excuse to fight "the man".

Ballad Of A Thin Man

You walk into the room with your pencil in your hand
You see somebody naked and you say, "Who is that man?"
You try so hard but you don't understand
Just what you will say when you get home
Because something is happening here but you don't know what it is
Do you, Mr. Jones?

You raise up your head and you ask, "Is this where it is?"
And somebody points to you and says, "It's his"
And you say, "What's mine?" and somebody else says, "Well, what is?"
And you say, "Oh my God, am I here all alone?"
But something is happening and you don't know what it is
Do you, Mr. Jones?

You hand in your ticket and you go watch the geek
Who immediately walks up to you when he hears you speak
And says, "How does it feel to be such a freak?"
And you say, "Impossible!" as he hands you a bone
And something is happening here but you don't know what it is
Do you, Mr. Jones?

You have many contacts among the lumberjacks
To get you facts when someone attacks your imagination
But nobody has any respect, anyway they already expect you to all give a check
To tax-deductible charity organizations

Ah, you've been with the professors and they've all liked your looks
With great lawyers you have discussed lepers and crooks
You've been through all of F. Scott Fitzgerald's books
You're very well-read, it's well-known
But something is happening here and you don't know what it is
Do you, Mr. Jones?

Well, the sword swallower, he comes up to you and then he kneels
He crosses himself and then he clicks his high heels
And without further notice, he asks you how it feels
And he says, "Here is your throat back, thanks for the loan"
And you know something is happening but you don't know what it is
Do you, Mr. Jones?

Now, you see this one-eyed midget shouting the word "Now"
And you say, "For what reason?" and he says, "How"
And you say, "What does this mean?" and he screams back, "You're a cow!
Give me some milk or else go home"
And you know something's happening but you don't know what it is
Do you, Mr. Jones?

Well, you walk into the room like a camel, and then you frown
You put your eyes in your pocket and your nose on the ground
There ought to be a law against you comin' around
You should be made to wear earphones
'Cause something is happening and you don't know what it is
Do you, Mr. Jones?

So it's a full blown conspiracy theory? Sweet. I was worried this was a serious discussion.

Walmart, Kroger, Kohls, Best Buy and Starbucks are among the retail giants implementing a mandatory mask or face covering policy for their customers and employees!

For whatever reasons each retailer implemented their mandatory mask policy, I applaud 'em for mandating masks!

The National Retail Federation recently encouraged mandatory mask wearing policies to its' membership.

While I regret such policies were not implemented earlier, their mandated masking policies should greatly help reduce the spread of Covid19.

The only way to keep businesses open and get the Economy going is for everyone to wear a mask (or a face covering).

Those who refuse to wear a mask are going to hurt the Economy.

IMO

I don't understand that @Kenny is telling us that it's all fake
to be honest, I don't understand it at all,
as Wikipedia tells us
nobody exactly KNOWS what Dylan was saying

I guess he said:
dope is no good for your brain

and so is Corona
as it can cause severe damage to brains
even when you are no longer in the statistics
and your case is labeled as "recovered"
you may still suffer from severe health issues

why can't we just collaborate a little
and do whatever is needed to increase
-even if it would have only a slight chance-
the likelihood of not spreading the virus?

And you all continue to fight for personal freedom
after you survived that threat???????

The mandatory mask policy should be a Government mandatory policy, under fines of $6,000 for the ones not using the mask. That's the fastest and only way to get the things done. Some people only understands the wallet language, not the common sense.
AND, always followed by the "president" wearing a damn face mask when in public, ALWAYS.
You cannot expect the people of a country to do things that it's own president is not doing, and bragging about it.

I don't think Kenny is telling that it's all fake by quoting the Dylan lyrics...
He already said at his first post that it's of common sense to wear a face mask and protect the people around you:
Wearing a mask in public is not so much for your own protection, but for the protection of those around you.
This is not my opinion. According to the medical professionals, this is a fact.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/16/us/coronavirus-masks.html

Morgan Freeman’s deep, soothing voice delivered a message to America: “When you wear a mask, you have my respect. Because your mask doesn’t protect you, it protects me.”

Using familiar actors, a broad national ad campaign unveiled on Thursday by New York State, once the center of the coronavirus pandemic, aimed to educate people about how covering their mouths and noses could save lives.

Masks can block dangerous respiratory droplets that would otherwise be spread by infected people, and universal mask wearing can help stop inadvertent transmission by people who are asymptomatic.

In an example cited by the C.D.C. this week, vigilant mask wearing was credited with preventing two ill stylists at a hair salon in Missouri from spreading the virus to nearly 140 clients, none of whom became ill.

CDC calls on Americans to wear masks to prevent COVID-19 spread

CDC reviewed the latest science and affirms that cloth face coverings are a critical tool in the fight against COVID-19 that could reduce the spread of the disease, particularly when used universally within communities. There is increasing evidence that cloth face coverings help prevent people who have COVID-19 from spreading the virus to others.

“We are not defenseless against COVID-19,” said CDC Director Dr. Robert R. Redfield. “Cloth face coverings are one of the most powerful weapons we have to slow and stop the spread of the virus – particularly when used universally within a community setting. All Americans have a responsibility to protect themselves, their families, and their communities.”

Animal Abuse.

When I had my Belgian Malinois he never had a muzzle on that compromised his breathing.

oh my god
what did you do to your dog?

there exist muzzles where no breathing is affecting the dog

by the way
are you aware that a muzzle is not meant to
prevent someone from expressing his/her opinion
aka talking ( or breathing )

but from BITING somebody??????
