Hello, recently I bought the domain called LiveinPennsylvania.com.I thought this is a good one and started outbounding for about 5 companies in a day and have almost run out of realtors to outbound. So far I got only 2 replies asking for the price I said 1000 USD as LiveinPhiladelphia.com was sold for 1250 and explorepennsylvania.com for 1500. Moreover,20 percent will go to godaddy too. After I said the price I did not get any replies. I don't know what to do. What am I doing wrong here?? Did I overprice it or the domain name is bad?? What should I do now?? Please need some guidance as this is my 2nd domain. Thank you

Anyone please reply I don't know why anyone doesn't reply to my threads alone !!:dead::dead:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
since you are dealing with realtors. these people understand "comps" did you provide comps? like your "LiveinPhiladelphia.com" for $1250?

I would get all possible domains sold beginning with "Live" or if you can find ones that begin with "LiveIn".

And next a list of all domains that end in Pennsylvania.

of course include prices sold.

I would then provide a list of monthly searches for the keyword Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania gets 368,363 searches per month on Google.

A Competition score of 50.81

In Anchor and Title (IAAT) in backlinks of websites. 132,773

You can them to Google "Live In Pennsylvania" in quotes which will give 7,380,000 results.

you tell them that means there are that many websites using this term in their websites.

Adding the quotes means the three word combo just as it reads "Live in Pennsylvania" is very valuable because it has 7,380,000 websites online using this term.

That's pretty big actually.

And then you tell them to search in Google for this below.

In Title: Live in Pennsylvania

The above will give you 165,000,000 results. Believe me when I tell you. That is huge compared to other searches.

To be honest I did not expect that.

If all you care about is $1000. With the stats above. it should be an orgy of data points that drives the point home that your domain is valuable.

I mean heck with the data above. you should be asking $10,000. Tell them that. $1000 for them is a deal.

Most people don't it when you sell a domain to them. But sell them a website? That's a different story. It might be worth your while to do basic development. like a blog. might even get more than $1000.

https://www.google.com/search?q="li...rome..69i57.5403j0j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

And then there is the keyword "Live" which gets 278,728 and a competition score of 100 (that's high)

In anchor and title has 5,711,174 websites containing "Live" in it's backlinks.

Good luck.

LiveInPhiladelphia.com and ExplorePennsylvania.com sold for that much because they were inbound purchases. To be honest, your name isn’t bad but it’s not worth $1000. Outbound is tough, especially with GEO names. You also have to consider how much impact the pandemic has had on the real estate market. I find that GEO names have a better chance of being selling if they have traffic.

You need to spend some time reading this forum up and down. You have way less leverage in outbound negotiation and you’re doing good if 1 in 5 names sell per week.

You haven’t done anything wrong except possibly price too high. Outbound is alot of work with usually modest reward. The stats are useless imo on an outbound. Just place it for sale somewhere perhaps with a lower price. What you asked for is on the high end for typical outbound.

I did tell them and they told they were not interested the next day

I would get all possible domains sold beginning with "Live" or if you can find ones that begin with "LiveIn"
I would be more than happy to sell it to you in that case XD
Thanks a lot for the information I was not familiar that stats can add this much value to a domain by this much!!
I find that GEO names have a better chance of being selling if they have traffic.
Thanks for the advice I will try to build a blog then i guess!!😅
Just place it for sale somewhere perhaps with a lower price.
Thanks for the advice I have placed it in sedo and afternic for make offer!!

My delivery was like I am XXX and i own this domain and stated the traffic and potential of the domain and told them that all the other states of this format is already taken. If interested contact through mail. All of this in a much more formal way. Only 2 of them responded asking for price and they stopped replying after i told the price!!

Save your ammo you don't need to justify anything yet. Save the sales history as your reason to reply or to ask for something closer to asking price if already priced.

That's what I did I told the sales history only if they asked for the price. The one i mentioned in the first text was the liveinxxx.com format has already been taken for every state.

Can't win everything but we can always improve technique on approach asking for the offer as we don't get second chances with same customer we can learn how to steer the conversation away from what isn't working for us and what leads into negotiations.

I think they said not interested because you showed them only one sale?

Probably thought. "oh. you only showing us one sale? One comp?"

maybe if you showed them the "orgy" of sales it implies you can sell this domain to anyone as there is a huge market for it not just one sale.

with that said. you can then say nicely. "Thank you. No worries I am confident I can sell this domain for my asking price since it is cheap compared to past sales for similar domains as I have shown you."

That's a better position to be in than having shown just one comp for $1250 for LiveInPhiladelphia.com

As you left it, kind showed them you are in a position of desperation. Never a good look.

Always look confident and that you don't need someone's money. People will respect you more and seriously consider your decent price expectation.

think like a realtor who is representing a buyer of a house that's in an area where only one house has sold in the past for only $1250.

Do you think he will accept a $1000 price tag in that same "area"?

he has no motivation in buying right now as you have not convinced him of the urgency of buying this domain NOW for $1000.

now he's got all the balls in his court. he has the luxury of waiting you out to counter way lower than your asking price.

As a rule never give your target price because you will always be negotiated down. You should always expect that.

you tell someone your domain is $1 in their mind they will expect they can get it for 50 cents.

This is how people think.

Most times it's the "big man" complex. The "big man" wants to squeeze and bend the seller to the price he wants to pay and the threat is always the "walk away". So always leave plenty of room for the "big man" complex.

Sure a high price might turn off most buyers but what choice do you have? if the people you are dealing with don't have the "big man" complex you could always drop the price drastically as needed.

but once you set your price. it's over. you can't ask for above it and you are almost guaranteed 9 times outta 10 to be negotiated down from your asking price. even if it's $1.

People always tell me I overprice my domain. But if I price my domain to "Sell" 9 times outta 10 people will try to bring your price down even if you feel it's already a fair price.

It's very annoying when you price your domain at say $1000 or $2000 or $3500. A fair price for the most part. These are the prices for most of HugeDomains.com's inventory. Yet people will get stuck at offering just $500 or $1000.

Not for nothing. but if you are in a rush to sell and if $1000 is your target. You might get close to the price by sending the domain to auction given the stats I gave you.

The stats are pretty strong in my opinion. I'm sure others will disagree.

I remember a domainer @Ali on here several times have sold domains for thousands via auctions by pointing out the stats similar to what I gave you.

Sent it to auction and gave stats sold for thousands via auction.

Of course he did it because he has a good following on Social Media and the domain industry.

Good luck!

oh yea? Follow me and I just might. :xf.wink:

actually I took a look and I don't understand why you haven't. pretty good stats for UREA. it looks to even have it's own WikiPedia page dedicated to it.. That's always a good thing.

why haven't you done your homework on it?

I am in a bit of rush to sell it quick 😅 as I wanted to buy a few more names with it and put some money into trying drop shipping too.
I thought of putting it up for auction in godaddy but since I am new to this I thought this would probably just lie with all the other domains without bids. Shall I list it in godaddy auctions then??
