I only ask this question because I'm not sure? A niche would be like; healthcare, tech, real estate, financial services, food services, sports and entertainment etc.

I'm actually looking to join forces with a technical partner whose family happens to be successful restaurant entrepreneurs. Doing a little research I've learned there are approximately a million restaurants in the US of which almost 500,000 are chains or institutional, and the other 500,000 are typically solo operations that each have a domain for their restaurant.

Worldwide I'm guessing there are another 500K restaurants that have a domain associated with their business.

Any other industries have this sort of need? Thanks

I would think the automotive vertical is one of the largest but well plowed. Maybe finding a small under served niche would be easier.

Thanks...it seems to me with 500 new restaurants opening practically every day, one could carve out a specialty that could cater to the the need. You're right about the automobile industry being large as well, especially with Sedo selling WeSellUsedCars.com for $10,000 a few months ago.

Healthcare is another large niche for domainers, especially with the Covid19 plaguing the world. What I'm striving for is to become the go to guy in any industry niche. I think partnering (in some capacity) with successful leaders in any industry is the way to get the most out of your domains. Thanks again(y)

Not the largest, but definitely two of the most fast-growing niche industries for domain names are sports betting and online casinos. As both are gradually becoming becoming legal across the United States, don't be surprised if these two niche industries start running the domain world. Lot's of untapped potential still in these fields.

I wouldn't choose the restaurant industry niche because the owners don't have too much money to spend on a good domain name.

I also have noticed that there are many restaurant businesses which domains that are operated by major delivery services like JustEat, so the domain name is owned by JustEat and the restaurant pays to Justeat a commission

Bail bond names have been out of favor since google ads cut ties but bail bond agents still need names. Open shop and saturate your local market with a catchy slogan and matching swag. “Better to know me and not need me, than to need me and not know me” is the gold standard, so either partner with the King or write your own, good luck!

When a domain is sold it can then be rated on keyword value and whether other names on offer can offer similar results or whether you can justify higher based on history. If you were to break down what industry every domain sale relates too you might target those industries but you also might find that previous sales were based on merit of sales person over the price of the domain and actually some industries converted well and haven't even been put on offer. Basically lifting the value of any keyword is achievable and the merit of the salesperson has as much weight as the domain itself.

I started this thread saying that maybe the restaurant industry is one of the largest but after more thought maybe industries like medical/healthcare, transportation and sports and entertainment are just as big.
